if it was up to me, i would trade steph for a lottery pick (#2 to atlanta b/c they have the cap space) - we may have to sweeten the pot and give up the #30 as well.

and then trade the #2 to charlotte (if bogut is #1, otherwise draft bogut) for #5 and #13 (they want paul)

giving us #5 #8, #13, #54
draft deron williams at 5
draft bynum at 8
draft warrick at 13
best player available at 54

giving us this pipeline:
d williams
crawford
ariza/warrick
sweets/warrick
bynum

that my friends, is how you build a team for a decade...but it's too bad i'm not running this team...

I like it! Except I would go even further...

First, we trade KT to Houston for Weatherspoon, Malick Badiane and the 24th pick.

Second, we trade Jamal Crawford, Mike Sweetney, the 54th pick for Nene Hilario, Fransisco Elson, Eduardo Najera, the 20th and 22nd pick.

Woohoo!

Here is my value board per pick...

5 - Gerald Green, Fran Vazquez, Deron Williams

8 - Raymond Felton(If 5 is not Williams), Channing Frye, Danny Granger

13 - Andrew Bynum, Andray Blatche, Johan Petro

20 - CJ Miles, Rudy Fernandez

22 - Wayne Simien, Hakim Warrick, Jarrett Jack

24 - Charlie Villanueva, Randolph Morris, Ronny Turiaf

If the basketball gods smiles at me then we pick the following..
5-Green
8-Vazquez
13-Felton
20-Bynum
22-CJ Miles
24-Jarrett Jack

Our roster would be

C - Nene Hilario, Andrew Bynum, Malick Badiane, Elson
PF - Vazquez, Mo Taylor, Simien, JYD, Najera
SF - Ariza, TT, Rose
SG - Green, CJ Miles
PG - Felton, Jack

CUT Butler and Weatherspoon. Unless, Butler show something in the summer league. Buyout Penny.

BLOW IT UP BABY!

Hey, I guy can dream. Can he?

LOL, you have 16 guys on your roster man. What are you going to do with Houston? Let me help you out, adding to your cut list add those names that most NYers wouldn't even be able to pronounce.

why not trade Marbury for Dwayne Wade then turn around and trade Penny's and Tiny tim's contracts for Shaq.

our lineup would be:

g -crawford
g -wade
f -ariza
pf -sweetney
c -shaq

He he. Yeah. I was hoping nobody would notice that. I am hoping Houston would retire. I would leave Badiane in Europe giving us 15. Put JYD, Najera and Rose in the practice squad. I meant IR list.

Like TMS I would just hold on to the 2nd pick and draft Marvin Williams. With 8 I would take Bynum. Then I would try to move up in the draft using Kurt and the 30 pick as the bait, maybe a team like Minnesota would bite with pick 14. If I got pick 14, I would use that on Martell Webster if he is still there. That would give you something like

PG- Jamal Crawford
SG- Martell Webster
SF- Marvin Williams
PF- Sweets
C- Andrew Bynum

Not a bad core

i got no problem w/that plan either (except for Sweetney...i want more athleticism at that position if we're going to have Bynum at C)

Yep, I wouldn't want Sweets there long term. He would basically be there until we could get someone else via draft, trade, or whatever. I forgot to mention that we would still have Ariza there too so we would certainly have a nice pipeline of youth. I would love to watch a team like this play with guys like Rose, Ariza, and Jerome coming off the bench and providing a spark. Bynum, Marvin, and Webster would make one hell of a trio. If Bynum developed nicely, we would have a force inside to give the ball to and Bynum would be able to kick it out to Webster for jumpers all day long. We would have some nice balance.

Until those players develop, we could go with a lineup like this

PG- Jamal Crawford/Damon Stoudamire (through FA)
SG- Martell Webster/Allan Houston/Trevor Ariza
SF- Marvin Williams/Trevor Ariza/Tim Thomas
PF- Malik Rose/Jerome Williams/Maurice Taylor
C- Mike Sweetney/Andrew Bynum/Jackie Butler

Then when we get our top 5 draft pick, we take the best PF available

Where does Houston fit in your plan. You want to keep him? He should be the first Knick traded.

As TMS said, no one will want to trade for Houston. I would just play him off the bench and hopefully he would be able to give Webster some pointers. Nothing else you can do other than keeping him until his contract expires in 2 years.

You are proposing to blow up the team and hop all of these picks pan out. This would turn us into the hawks, or the bobcats. There is no guarantee this way either.

at this point, 5 years into the $100+ mil route of trying to build a team, don't you think we should try something new?
I think it should begin with the Knicks taking Houston to court. Judge Judy or Judge Mathis. If that doesn't work I recommend having some guys from Jersey make him offer he can't refuse, if ya know what I mean.
