this is what i can't understand about some. How can you honestly post about how Mike Sweetney is the FUTURE but a guy named Gasol who avg's good numbers is overrated and soft and whatever else is the new "phrase".

Ummm, Memphis was losing 50 games not too long ago. They are now playoff contenders. What more could anyone ask for?

they made the playoffs twice and got swept. they won't be back.

and, yeah, I think Bynum has a far higher ceiling than Gasol. Gasol is what he is: Keith Van Horn 2. He's fine, but if you build your team around him, you aren't getting anywhere.

He's panned out? I agree. He's gotten as good as he will ever get. Bynum has a far higher ceiling. Will he get there? Who knows. But he has the potential to be far better than Gasol. You know what you're getting with Gasol, but I'd rather have someone who can win you a playoff game.

Dude, Memphis plays their players about 25 minutes a game. Of course the numbers are going to go down. How do you know Bynum has a far higher ceiling? How?

Is that a dynasty. Gasol played 32mpg last year. His rebs per 48 minutes was 11. That's pathetic. Nazr consistantly averaged 15rebs per 48 as a Knick, and he's two inches shorter than Gasol. I'm sorry, this notion that Gasol is a franchise player is pathetic. You're comparing him to Bynum? Why? Compare him to an NBA player. You know who you'll end up with? Keith Van Horn or Shareef Abdur Rahim.

I'm not saying the Grizzlies are worse than the Knicks, but I am saying that Gasol isn't saving any team any time soon. Posey, Swift, Miller and JWill have just as much to do with that teams success as Gasol does.

Exactly. They do have much to do with it just as they have much to do with it when they don't win a playoff game. You are contradicting yourself. Your boy Swift too. The second overall pic of the draft behind Kenyon Martin. Will Swift ever be a 20 and 10 player? Will he ever reach his ceiling?

If you sit here in my face and tell me that the Knicks wouldn't be a better team with Gasol then you are lost. I gave you all the high schoolers big men who were drafted with Gasol. He is clearly a much better player then all of them. I never said Gasol made the Griz a dynasty. But you said if the Griz build a team around them they aren't getting anywhere. So I pondered the question of would Bynum make the Knicks a dynasty in your mentality? Then you come back with has Gasol made the Griz a dynasty. That right there let me know you are lost
