The redsox won only after they become souless starphuchers themselves!

Yankees since 1975 have won how many titles? Finished in 1st place how many times? Have drafted and kept how many players?

Vs. the Knicks? Not even close. The Yankees have lost their way and fail to remember you have to lose to win. They could remake the team but they are impatient and have reverted to a formula that does not work often.

True Dynasties trade players in their prime for prospects. We do the opposite. I like the twins cuz they grow their own, fans claim ownership on the team. IN NYC, we don't produce teams, we create entertainment products. ITs business, but we don't have to all support it.

Brown and johnson are like 8o years old and make like 40 million dollars!

I admire Steinbrenners drive and desire to win, but sometimes the teams can be embarrasing! The knicks are totally embarassing!

I will put it this way. I will take 4 world championships in 9 years, in any sport...

why are you taking pride in the fact that the Yankees lose to the team that wins the world series every year? This is not a team constructed to take pride in just making it to the playoffs. Do you think Jordan would have been happy losing in the playoffs to the team that went on to win the championship every year? Should Ewing have been happy to lose to the Bulls because the Bulls went on to win championships? Taking pride in losing to the team that wins the championship is just a loser mentality.
well I'm glad I never said anything about taking pride in losing, because I would not want to be labeled as having a losers mentality.

I think you will be hard pressed to find a Yankee or Yankee fan that takes any solace in having lost to teams that went on to win titles. My only point was the Yankees either were the best or were beaten by the best. It just backs up Jeter's point that they hit some hot teams. Its not an excuse, guys with 4 rings dont make excuses
So it's okay to always be 2nd best (losing to the best)?

It's not about taking pride in anything, it's about offering perspective about how good the Yankees have been over the last decade. Unlike in basketball, in which a dominant player can control a game or a playoff series, there is no similar dynamic in baseball.

How many franchises in MLB history have reached the WS as often as the Yankees have over the last decade? Probably only the Yankee teams of earlier eras have.

Consequently, your point about a loser's mentality is nonsensical.

I thought we were talking about the last 4 years. Now you're changing the time period.

Let's be grown up rather than resorting to childish name calling. Can you handle that?

Losing is not OK. He's trying to say that we've been so good that in 9 years, it's been either the best or second best and nothing else. You can't win it every year, and when we won 4 of 5, that was just crazy and things were going "Close to spectacular" and "Fantastically well".

Yes, there are a ton of concerns in Yankee land right now. The pitching rotation is old. We waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overpaid a ton of players and gave others dumb extensions like RJ. But if we can restock that farm and just let those contracts eventually burn, hopefully we can start building a team again b/c obviously buying everyone is not working.

Bonn, why is it that you see things as Roses when it comes to the Knicks, but you look at the Yankees, and it appears you see Hell? How ironic.

On a sidenote, just curious Bonn. When did you become a Yankee fan?

I view the Yankees and the Knicks differently because the Yankees are not (a) in a rebuilding situation and (b) competing with all the anti-capitalism salary rules the NBA has.
Losing still sucks for the Knicks, though. Maybe you're confusing patience with rose-colored glasses for the Knicks. With the Knicks, I'm looking for gradual changes to move the team in the right direction. With the Yankees, I'm looking for moves that bring a playoff level team to the next level.

At least get it right; it's the snitty gay robot card. Not merely the gay robot card.

sold em... I have about 15 games left not including post season. I'm spoiled at this point. I only go to playoffs, Mets, Red Sox and a few others. I used to do the 40 game plan. Then I just did the full 82 and got a couple of people to buy in with me, so we pretty much div them up evenly. I go to about 15-20 a year now and 3-4 playoff games.

Today I bring you
The curse of Donnie Baseball
Mattingly started this

They never win while he played. He leaves, they win 4. He returns in 2000 and they haven't won since:

As a METS fan, I cannot say I have much sympathy for any of you. You had a great run. Nothing lasts forever (except for the pain of a Knicks fan - haha!!).
