I've been a big Taft supporter, but that has to end now. If Chris was so bad that Isiah was shaking his head then the Knicks shouldn't and won't take him. Let's hope Isiah still likes Channing Frye, because we need a big man. At least Frye seems to be taking the workouts seriously, as his stock is rising.

Channing Frye played very very well starting at the mid point of the season against AZ ST, and pretty much through the rest of the season. Of ALL the bis in the draft including Bogut, he is the best SHOOTER, but this is a guy I pegged for round 2 not long before he made his run because he has Brian Cook written on him. If his frame was stronger and he played tougher, he would be a top 5 pick, but he is a true?????

Is it imperative to get a guy that plays this year? I just think Bynum will develop into a much better version of Brendan Haywood, a guy capable of 20-10-3 in 2-3 years. If Im wrong, well atleast I went for a huge skill C. I dont want to get beat reaching for Frye.

Anyone got video on Antoine Wright? I want to see how his highlights compare to Granger's beautiful Pierce like stroke

That's a really good point Briggs. We don't wanna get burned on Bynum because he would take a few years longer then Channing Frye would. I was not a bigtime supporter of Frye while he was in college becuase of his frame but if the word about him putting more weight onto his frame is true, then I'd be interested. I don't like the idea of taking him at 8, I dont think he's THAT great of a player, atleast Bynum has the ability to be great in a few years. I would say somewhere between pick 13 and 17 is a good spot for Channing, but thats a long way from where I would have prohjected him 3 months ago so he must be doing something right in these workouts.

The one big that I do like that as of right now is projected to go at the end of the 1st round is Randolph Morris. At 6'10 265 he's got a great NBA body forward/center body which allow his biggest assets of lowpost moves and rebounding to translate into the NBA, this isn't a guy thats going to be getting pushed around down low. I'd be ecstatic if Isiah can pick up Randolph at pick 30 and Bynum at pick 8, the future of our frontcourt would finally be bright. Say Isiah can pickup a mid 1st rounder as well and take a 2guard maybe McCants? This draft would be absolutely huge if that happened.

damn I forgot about McCants. I would take Wright over him though if he was there. I love his size at 6-7. We can afford to take the chance on him especially if we already have Bynum. It can be very rewarding if he pans out. He and Marbury would be a great backcourt whereas steph/craw/mcCants would be seriously overmatched defensively. Wright is athletic, great ballhandler, perfect wing player and is very pesky defensively. The perfect choice at SG! it would almost make up for missing out on Green.

Bynum and Wright would be better than just Green and #30. We need another pick!

Gun! I am disappointed in you. You are amongst the few who think that we need to invest in big boys, but now you are saying for us to use the 30th pick in a guard..Comeon brother, our problem is definitely not at the guard position...It is the front court. We need to invest 100% of our picks to solidify the front court...Worst comes worst, we have the next draft or FA to address the guard position.

By the way, Taft showed signs of a pretty good player

no no no no no!

I'm saying trade KT and the Spurs 2006 pick or Sweetney for a mid 1st round pick and draft
Bynum
&
Granger, Webster. or Wright
&
@ 30 draft Blatche, Splitter, vazquez or Morris

That would leave use with a HUGE Center, and big SG who plays both ends or the star we deperately need and another C/PF

Realistically:
8. Bynum
Wright-mid first round
30.Blatche

Even more realistically trade KT + 30 and move up:
8. Bynum
Wright-mid first round

I think for Bynum, he has to show really well in the workouts. He has to show increased quickness and speed to his movements. He has to show he has the desire to play year 1 and be able to play well, even if he eventually didnt get off the floor. I have heard good things from his recent workouts, but that isnt 100 pro scouts in front of him. He has to show it when they come. If he shows it, if he shows good speed and mobility--I would say a 25% increase from the MCD game and shows that he has a good touch and skills around the rim, that he can run the floor well, I really dont know how we can bypass him, regardless of any mock predictions. Again, he hAS to show it, hes got to prove it or he isnt going to be an 8 pick no matter what. In other words, he has to stand out quite well.
