First off, Taft is better than Wilcox...ans he's taller than Wilcox. Don't let these so called Gurus's (Chad Ford) cloud your judgement. If Taft is available then you take him, unless you're looking at taking Fran Vasquez (who I like).

question:

lets say come pick 8, our pick, Bynum is still on the boards as well as Blatche, both had good showings in workouts, if the lakers offered us Odom, and pick 10(their pick I assume) for pick 8 and we make them take TT or Maurice Taylor, would you make that trade, we could end up with odom and Blatche...

I wonder if Phil Jax likes Bynum?

I think taking Bynum would be a smart move for the future of the franchise, but the future is always now in New York and Zeke probably wouldn't survive to see Bynum contribute.
Doesn't matter, Phil Jax, has never been given a real opportunity to evaluate draft picks in either Chicago or LA. Jackson is not a talent evaluator. Phil Jackson is a coach first and motivator second. He has said he doesn't want GM responsibilities.

Then, even with all his immediate needs, Isiah Thomas would wait the two or more years it often takes a high school player to develop.

"When you're looking at the high schoolers, there's definitely a waiting period," he said. "However, they're sometimes well worth the wait and having to wait on somebody won't stop me from taking them."

It's great to hear him say that. I hope he means it.

Although I always take what is said about a team's draft intentions with a huge grain of salt, I view drafting Bynum as an acid test for Isiah. If he doesn't draft him we know that he is merely another shill for Dolan, just in it for the paycheck, exactly like Layden.
How in the hell do you make a conclusion like that. Suppose Bynum sucks it up in workouts.

Rich in this thread has a very narrow viewpoint. You cannot limit yourself to only one player, especially one that we know so little about, and conclude that if that one player isn't drafted, the GM failed the "acid test." I'd take a very different view. If Bynum looks good, then yes, definitely draft him. However, if he looks bad and looks like he's not only younger than other players available but also is not going to amount to as much as them and is another Kwame Brown, Eddy Curry, etc, then drafting him just to please critics like Rich would be a failure.
