If this is true, this is a no-brainer. As far as roster spots, we have sundov and that back up PG from the NBDL we can cut... 3 mil for Dolan( who is on forbes list as one of the richest people on earth) is chump change.....

jeez - if this has an ounce of credibility, and isiah doesn't jump on this, then he should get fired on the spot.

why is memphis selling the pick? they're losing watson, swift, and bonzi - they could use another player, no?

This has got to be the most insane article I've seen in a long time.

Buy a draft pick? Memphis is so goo that they are not gonna take a chance on drafting a young kid?

Stupid article.

owner uis trying to cut payroll, not the first time i have heard of this. memphis is looking to cut soem things financially. grabbbing 3mm isnt a bad way to start--you get 3mm and keep out of a commitment for 3+mm total savings=6+mm

Anybody count how many roster spots we have open?
I was thinking that too. If there are enough roster spots to keep Ariza and sign someone with the MLE, then I'd love to get more than the two 1st rd picks we currently have.

Teams have done it. They also trade picks for future considerations.
I rememeber Tinsley was traded on draft day in a similiar way.

Still doesn't take away from the stupidity of the article. NY media is so out of control it's sickening.

Seems too good to be true, so it probably isn't. The more I think about it, the less I want Kwame (disruptive/lazy***) Brown. What I'm seeing is the Bulls were happy to see JCraw go and next is Kwame. Those players did not work in their system because they are NOT COACHABLE...why should they work in a bigger spotlight?
No one can deny that the Bulls became much better without Crawford.....addition by subtraction....and with a solid draft. That should be our pattern for success (as some here have suggested). If we can, indeed, buy a pick in the 15-20 range, that would be awesome in Zeke's hands.
No one is uncoachable in the NBA. They just have not found the right coach. Kwame wants to be the center of attention. Here, he'd have that by default. I'd say get Kwame for the MLE, low risk, high reward.

Kwame for the LLE. MLE would be to high for this dude.

The Memphis pick would be good. Zeke please buy now.
Kwame for the LLE is not happening. He'll get the full MLE somewhere; Briggs thinks he might get more than that from one or two teams and I think there's a chance Briggs is right. Guys like Adonal Foyle, Brian Cardinal get the full MLE and don't have near the upside of Kwame. I heard that the Cavs are considering giving Antonio Daniels the full MLE this year.

1) Kwame doesn't score much, he doesn't rebound much, he doesn't block many shots. Why should we want him?

2)If the $3m thing is true, we should go for it. It's probably wrong.

I agree with point #2.

Point #1. Kwame put up 11/7 with fairly good defense at the age of 21? the last time he got regular minutes and displayed plenty of upside. I think at least some of his attitude and work ethic problems are related to the environment he's in and he could do better than the 11/7 in NY. If not, I don't mind using the full MLE on someone who turns out to be just a role player. It was still a good gamble. (All this assumes that he's physically healthy; I know he had a bunch of minor injuries during the season.)
