so why would he demand a trade to MIN when he loves playing in NY?

Maybe he won't have a choice, especially if Isiah wishes to pull the trigger on him....Since they are good friends, maybe Isiah can arrange for him to get a chance at winning a championship elsewhere. I still don't like that idea. I think that Marburry should be retained, and we should move Crawfford instead.

What about Marbury and Sweetman for Jalen Rose, Milt Palacio, and Toronto's #7 Pick

------------
Camby, Mcgrady, D.Stoudamire, Ariza,...???

If we have to choose between the two I would definitely say trade Crawford.

1 realistic trade idea for Marbury is to trade him to TOR for Jalen Rose & their lottery pick.

TOR desperately needs a star attraction to draw fans back to the games after they lost Vince, & pairing Marbury up w/Bosh would be a nice way to do that...that trade would give the Knicks very good cap relief & enable them to be big players in the FA market after Houston's contract expires (can you say Lebron James?)

w/a little luck you draft Taft & Green w/the 2 lottery picks...then move Crawford to the point & you have a decent team next year w/a better future outlook imho:

C - Taft (#7 pick) / Butler
PF - KT / Sweetney / Rose
SF - TT / Ariza / JYD
SG - Rose / Green (#8 pick)
PG - Crawford / MLE free agent (Earl Watson?)
IR - Houston / Penny / #30 pick

This sucks for the knicks. A lotto pick at #7 for an aging but good role player? Nah, we could get Jalen Rose for Penny, and that pick is likely not going to be as good as Marb's. Not even close.

i disagree...if you can end up w/Taft & Green out of the draft, i don't see how you can say neither of those guys will end up to be as good as Marbury someday...& again, the trade gives the Knicks great cap flexibility in 2 years to go after big names like Lebron James & Dwayne Wade, something they won't have a shot at w/Marbury's contract on the books until 2009...you have to look at a trade like this while examining the big picture & not focus so narrowly on the fact that Marbury for Jalen Rose isn't a fair deal...that's pretty obvious, but you're getting alot more than just Jalen Rose here.

btw, seems like you misunderstood the post...i had the lottery pick from TOR coming to NY along w/Jalen Rose for Marbury

Cap flexibility yes.

Green wont be available at 7 or 8 so he shouldn't even factor into the discussion.

In order for them to be as good as marbs you are talking 20 and 10 from a big. Someone may get that, but he is worth more than an old roleplayer and a pick right in front of us. I really don't want marbury gone, but I guess this trade isn't horrible as I think about it some more.
