GSW is only up by 13 with 9:25 to go. Matt Harpring has scored 6pts in the last 30 seconds.

only 8 pt game--GS has their tanking players in as well.

they actually brought the starters back. Utah has no reason to lose this game though, with the Portland win they're locked into 4th.

phew. Utah has missed about 6 FTs this quarter or this would be a five point game. 95-83 GSW leads with 3:14 left.

What difference do you guys think there will be between the 7th and 8th pick. I'd trade the pick for a 11 & 20 if I could. I thik we could still get very good players there.

It's one less team picking ahead of us. The pick is that much more valuable for trades or for who will be available at 7 but not 8. Also, it's all we have left.

GSW wins 106-89. We should have the 7th pick.

How many chances does a 7th pick has of being the top one? Or at least in the top three?

decent chance for a top 3 not as good a chance at 4,5,6. I'm pretty damn happy being in 7th place right now with the chance to move into the top 3 and definitely get either Bogut, green or Williams!

The Tie..

"Tied teams split the number of chances and a blind draw determines which team receives an extra chance if the combined number of chances can not be split evenly."

So essentially combine lotto balls for #7 and #8, then divide by two.. with the extra ball going to coin flip type deal.

Another way to look at it.. we have pick 7.5

Last season GS and Seattle had the same record and GS won the season series 3-1. So, theoretically, Seattle should have picked ahead of the Warriors. But, GS picked first. Barring a rule change, its a coin flip between NY and Toronto.
Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

i knew it was a coin flip. the wizards played their bench the whole 4th q and we countered by playing vets to the end, costing us about 2 1/2 % for nothing

if were were sitting in 7 place alone, we wouldve had a 16% chance at top 3. 16 out of 100 and Toronto 11 now we have the same and one of the teams gets a slight % more by a flip

I hope those people who wanted to end the season on a "high note" do not end up eating crow if we lose the coin toss, miss out on the player that we really want, and he turns out better than our pick.

This draft is too rich for us to miss out on any one particular player. Bogut is a good talent, but who's to say that he will be a star in the NBA?? Green, Taft, and a lot of other talents will be around when it is our time to pick, besides, Isiah may work some of his magic to move up by then....

That is weird that the NBA would use 2 different criteria for determining position, but everything I've read today says its true...

Damn.

How did I come to this conclusion is by subtracting the final score between the two teams last night. In fact, we are currently in the 8th spot, and most of all, it has been almost 8 years since the Knicks had a winning season. Almost 8 years since Kurt Thomas has been in N.Y, and on the 8th year we will be liberated from him. The 9th pick last season has yet to pan out, but with the 8th pick of this draft, Isiah who wore #11 during his playing days will pick or trade the pick to either move up or add some more picks who will march us all the way to the NBA finals during his 3rd year with THIS FRANCHISE.

YES, 8 IS OUR LUCKY NUMBER
#7 Lamar Odoms is destined to be a Knick. He is from N.Y., if paired with Marburry, as athletic as this cat is, we could cause a lot of problems in the league. Trade Penny and either Kurt or Sweetney to LA for Odoms and change his number from jersey #7 to 8 and we will be the best team in the East....if we can't get Odoms
No to Wally
No to Dampier
No to Stoudamire
Yes to Illguskas

Summer plans

The challenge of retooling the Knicks begins today for Isiah Thomas. The following is a list of players Thomas may pursue in the offseason:

Lamar Odom
He's having trouble co-existing with Kobe Bryant, which for obvious reasons makes Odom available. If the Knicks are serious about playing a quicker style and spreading the floor with shooters, Odom would be a great addition. He can play power forward, run the offense and create mismatches. Odom had shoulder surgery two days ago but should be ready for camp.
Wally Szczerbiak
A talented small forward who would like nothing more than to return home. He's also a favorite of his Long Island neighbor, Jim Dolan. Knicks tried last summer to trade Kurt Thomas for Szczerbiak.
Al Harrington
A favorite of Isiah Thomas, who coached him in Indiana. Harrington could give the Knicks a low-post presence. Hawks GM Billy Knight already burned Thomas by trading Rasheed Wallace to Detroit and Antoine Walker in successive years. Maybe that's what Thomas, Knight and Frank Murphy, Thomas' right hand man, were all laughing about in the tunnel late Sunday as Atlanta was humiliating the Knicks.
Erick Dampier
The Knicks have been trying to acquire the veteran center for three years and with Dallas always re-tooling its roster Dampier could be available again. Two other trade possibilities are the Blazers' Zach Randolph and the Clippers' Elton Brand.
Ray Allen
The best free agent on the market but the chances of the Knicks getting involved are slim because Seattle would have to do a sign-and-trade and the Knicks don't have enough pieces to land someone as gifted as Allen. The same can also be said of another free agent shooting guard, Michael Redd.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas
The Cavs' free agent center will attract plenty of interest around the league as will Washington's Kwame Brown. Again, however, what do the Knicks have other than Kurt Thomas, to give anyone?
Stromile Swift
The athletic free agent forward is on the Nets' radar screen and exactly the type of player Isiah Thomas covets.
Damon Stoudamire
If the Knicks don't draft a point guard, Stoudamire would interest Thomas, who originally drafted him in Toronto.
