Shooters only decline if they are Allan Houston.

And I think Ray Allen over Rip is a no braienr. Rip is so overrated. The entire Piston offense is run for him. He can't do anything in an iso set.

And his defense is also overrated, he plays on a team with 4 1st team defense candidates, and he still does not look that great on D.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

dude, everyone knows rip is better than ray, except for when ray is better than rip.

Nicely put. I would add that Rip and Ray are mostly tied, except for when one is worse than the other.

The Knicks have as many talented young players in the league as any team except for when other teams some times have better ones.

I think Caseloads said it best:
imagine if you switched rip and ray, how would their teams be doing?

i think seattle would be worse and detroit would be better... just my opinion

i think ray had more intangibles

I definitely think Seattle would be doing worse. As for Detroit, they'd probably be doing better because they sometimes have large scoring droughts and Ray is the better scorer. Their team defense would still be outstanding whether Ray or Rip was their starting SG.

Rip is more fearless going to the basket.

But, Ray would win at arm-wrestling.

Ray's also better at air-hockey and bopping those frogs at carnivals.

Tic tac toe's a tough one. But, deep down inside, Ray's a competitor. I think he takes it.

rip loose over sugar ray any day. first of all, rip is a workingman's player in that there no glamour, sweetness, or style in his shot or his game, and even down to that protective face sheild he wears....nothing, nothing but hard work, whether its on defense or taking his defenders to the hole. rip is constantly on the attack, he is also one of best pull up mid-range shooters in the game. rip's real strength is his ability to team up with chauncey billups to create havoc in the backcourt. the most underrated backcourt in the nba as witnessed in detroit's championship run, rip + chauncey were simply out of control.

ray on the other hand is smooth like chivas regal, and one of the premiere showmanship shooters in the game. heck, all-star competition aint the same without him. an all around classy player, this guy is made for the new york market. if you want to find fault in his paper stats, you really cant. i was just wondering about their famous rectangle offense of big dog, sam cassels, tank thomas and himself with george karl in the pilot's seat....what happen homer
"Like they always say, New York is the Mecca of basketball,"I read that in Michael Jordan books my whole life and I played here in the Big East tournament, so it's always fun to play in the Mecca of basketball."---Rip Hamilton

Which of these two UConn Huskies would you rather have on your team and why?

i think some of you are confusing the original question...he's not asking which of these players is better or more talented...he's asking which of these players you would rather have for your team...for that reason, i take Rip Hamilton.

I take Ray after giving it more thought. We need another star on this team and Ray is it. Ray's shot is incredible and we definitely have scoring droughts so Ray is the answer.
