NY POST Marbury falling apart physically

I am really annoyed at the Knicks after we got raped by the Nets last night. They beat us pretty easily even though we made a late run.

I usually agree with you but I cannot on this one. I am not a "Marbury guy" but I really think he deserves the least of the blame. We were doing fine before Crawford went down in December. TT has been a dick all year long. We have a flawed roster so Marbury was basically playing with a flawed roster minus crawford + TT being an a-hole. Marbury did his job IMO. As a point guard, you can get some an open look but they still have to make it in. As a leader, you can motivate someone only if they are listening.

I hate this Knick team. They are embarrasing man. They are pathetic so everyone absolutely should be blamed but Marbury deserves the least of it.

when Marbury first got here he was playing so unselfishly & getting EVERYONE involved in the offense...Van Horn, KT, Penny & even Shandon were contributing to the team's success as a direct result of Marbury's drawing double teams off penetration.

now, he's reverted back to the scorers mentality that has this team not improving chemistry wise...right now, no one is hustling on the floor w/the exception of JYD, Rose & Ariza...whether Marbury's reverted due to the fact that no one's hustling, or whether the players have given up on working hard to get open because Marbury's reverted to a selfish style game, i can't really say...all i know is, there's been a drastic change in Marbury from the first few weeks he was here...he's trying to win games all by himself now, & that's never going to be a formula for longterm success...he needs to have teammates here who he can have confidence in & trust...this team is totally lacking in any semblance of cohesion, heart or pride.

it's sad, it really is.

Marb did all that he could. Same could be said for Kobe Bryant, but no one has said anything about him all season long...Marb has nothing but marginal talents around him on the court....He has nothing but a bunch of guys with POTENTIALs surrounding him...Have you looked at Crawfs stats? TT's? Houston's? The three most prominent position in the team were inconsistant in almost 3/4 of the season, and so was the coaching...

i don't know where you get that last comment since Kobe's been killed by everyone in the media all year long for prompting the dismantling of that team.

I don't care who we draft, but if we don't have someone to coach these kids, we will be horrible

Silver, you're definitely bringing up good points, but I deliberately used the phrase "deserves some critical spotlight." I think this is natural. Look at earlier in the year when Houston was underachieving - McGrady and Yao were getting roasted! Now that Orlando is stinking, Stevie's game is getting dissed regualarly. Redd is constantly being downgraded now. Kobe's getting broiled. Before Karl took over, Carmelo was getting bashed. No mention now.

My point only was that the leader of a team that's underperforming is going to naturally get picked over with a fine tooth comb. And personally I think that's fair enough. If Marb's performance can stand up to that scrutiny, then that's great.

It would be insane if they played Marbury another minute this year. I don't care if Jermaine Jackson has to play 40 minutes a night, the worst thing we could possibly do is have an unhealthy Marbury next season...

He's a warrior who gets no credit. That happens in NY.

He is a max salary player. Most good proathletes sacrifice their health for the cash and the glory. ITs his job. No body disputes his effort, or his talent. Just the cost to get those stats in the boxscore.

Gazy is a piece of fragile crap in comparison.

Marbs is a Warrior, but also a stat whore and gets plenty of cred, fame and cash. That happens in NY too!

thats my beef with Marbury. The fact that he gets paid like the shaq, KG, dirk, duncans of the league and he can't even make an allstar game or lead us to an 8th seed in a pathetic East.

Keeping us from being able to go after a real winning player once H20 is gone.

Thats the reason I said after the Nets embarrassed us in the playoffs last year that Marbury was not undertradeable and a lot of people went crazy!
