History of the Knicks?

Rest on the laurals of the past can be tragic.

Knicks are hitting rock bottom now. Getting verbally and physically abused now!

If nets were in brooklyn last few years, and with vince, jeff and kidd now with rising Nened, draft picks and cap room, they might really be challanging well for the NYC entertainment dollar!

Competition is good, it will shock the knicks back as contenders. Real contenders, not playoff cash flow pretenders! If not, the Nets will own the city!

Last season, it was KMart, now Kidd and Jefferson. I wonder when our boys will learn to grow some cojoles??...

This is definitely not the team that Isiah want to build in N.Y....Isiah is a bad boy, we definitely need a couple of JYDs in N.Y. Guys who will do the little things...Isiah needs to draft a young big man and put him in the same cage with Bill Lambeer to learn a thing or two about earning respect..

Disrespect the NETS for year? Are you kidding? We bitchslapped them for years!

The nets are not a good team, but they are one that is doing a very fast rebuild for obvious reasons.

But what is impressive, they are playing and thinking they are in fact a GOOD team! They will add some pieces and be much better next year. They don't have to change the culture and thinking of the team.

We are a good team that does not think that way! I don't know all the problems of the team, but I admire the Nets for that moxie. They are playing with a purpose. They never had that team whole all year. First if was Just Jefferson, then kidd, and eventually Vince. Vince and Jeff I think only played a game or two.

What have the knicks earned to garner the Nets respect? It aint' about having an enforcer around, its about winning and confidence!

YOu thing Kidd was not pumped when he heard Marbs say he was the best?

When the knicks have any shred of self esteem and start being confident, they will have self respect, and then and only then could anyone respect them!

YOu think teams don't want to just kill a team who makes the most amount of money? Remember those kids in High school that thought they were better cuz their parents were rich? They got no props unless they actually did somthing!

Our back court is over the cap by itself! While players don't begrudge the money, but im sure they enjoy beating on the knicks!

nothing you said there is wrong dude...i just think Kidd was a punk for stooping to that level...same as i would feel if anyone on the Knicks team were to trashtalk about beating up on the Atlanta Hawks...maybe Jason should worry more about where HIS team is in the standings than taking immature potshots like this at the NY Knicks?

dude, TT was calling out K-Mart only...not dissing the entire Nets team...& when did Marbury ever call out Kidd? am i missing something?

make your ****y statements after you've won a title, not when your own team is struggling to get over .500 & struggling to make the playoffs...just like Marbury's "best PG in the NBA" comments were stupid, so are these by Jason Kidd.
yeah the Kidd statement is a joke since his team (like ours) is a garbage lottery team right now

NJ could be scary next year. When RJ comes back and a year in Krytic's pocket as well as Zorans, that team could very well be an East contender. If Shaq stays healthy, the Heat will stampede all over them, probably, but the Nets will still be a really good team.

so what??? they are still 2 games under .500 in the East and even if they get the 8th seed they're going to be crushed by the Heat in 4 games!

I still have to be convinced that Carter and Jefferson can co-exist. Its one thing for Carter to take all the shots now since he's playing on a CBA team but next year there's a good chance that he will be a major cancer, launching 3's all the time.

And I could care less if Jason could opens his mouth. It would be nicer if he weren't so harsh, but you act like this is the first time the Nets have talked like this. But I think some of you guys are getting pissed b/c he is RIGHT. RIGHT NOW, the Nets are the team of NY/NJ. Again, it would be nicer if he didn't open his mouth, but plenty of guys have talked trash about us such as Reggie who said he disrespects US and HATES US. Then after all that, we thank him for the memories.

I think Marcus Camby said it best, and I will stick with it until I sleep in my grave. "The NY fans are fickle."

i don't know about anyone else, but i called Reggie a punk when he made those comments too & i criticized anyone who would go to the trouble of thanking him when he played his last game at the garden a few days ago...i feel the same way about Kidd...he's a punk for saying what he said...& you're right A-fan, most of my frustration falls directly on the KNICKS' shoulders because like i've said, none of them have the heart to do anything about it (except for JYD)

well I guess that excludes New Jersey guys like like

Richard Jefferson & Kenyon Martin have also been known to take cheap shots at us.

Did a Knick ever take a cheap shot at them when they went to the finals twice in the 90s?

I respect fans who fill arenas like Pacer fans. I will never respect Nets bandwagon fans who don't go to games to support their team so that they don't have to leave the state!

Oh believe me TMS, I wasn't directing it at you. But I remember several posters who were appreciative of these so called memories, and then you see fans at that game with signs, thanking him for them. Unreal. Like I said, I would have stood up and cheered b/c it is the closing weeks or months of a great bball players career. A guy who'se game I appreciate. But as a Knick fan, I am not fond of any memories besides the games and the 3 series that we beat him. And obviously not saying you're wrong, but when Reggie said those words, I didn't call him a punk. I just flat out said "Lets kick his ars!!!" But I unfortunately can't say the same about Kidd, b/c we just flat out can't kick his teams ars b/c we stink and it will be said if we stink for the rest of his career.

Well, we are a bad team and it is evident by the way we played the Nets last night...Although I disagree with Kidd for saying it to the public, but I am glad that he did that. Now the question is: will the Knicks respond or show some sort of emotion next season when facing them???

Oh please, Kidd is right, and our teams deserves the insult.

If they don't get up to play the Nets, who have been humiliating them for years now, they deserve to be shatted on.

I for once hate this disgrace of a team more then I ever hated the Heat or the Pacers, let alone the Nets.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

this current roster will never respond...we need to blow it up & build back up w/players who have some self respect...JYD needs to stay...Malik Rose needs to stay...Trevor Ariza's still young & learning the game & usually hustles when he's on the floor so i only trade him to get a young player w/equal or greater potential.

other than those 3, i could care less if any of the rest of these guys are traded in the offseason. even Marbury, who's a very good player, but if i have to trade him to get the right formula in here, i do it w/o blinking an eyelash.

his point is that sometimes you have to take back over $200 mil in future salaries to fix this. putting poor product on the floor now means nothing, isiah needs time to build this thing from the ground...hahahahahah....sorry, i couldn't stop laughing....
