well whatever....we need a star froncourt player or at least a potential star player like gerald green not an at best okay PG who might not even start especially since steph & jamal are already here!

I agree, mostly, but this guy might really complement Marbury and he's a heady player the way a Wade is. He's the kind of guy who, rather than kill you in the final minutes, will come up with the big loose ball, the big stop, the big bucket. He's a clutch player and it's hard to rate how that will crossover to the league, but if it does crossover, he's going to be a great player.

Right now, my lotto ratings look like this for players I would love to see don an NYK baseball cap:

1) Bogut
2) Taft
3) Deron
4) Green
5) Hakim
6) Petro

I'm sure we'll be able to snag one of those guys, so I'm not too worried.

thats what im saying. I don't think deron will be able to do in the nba what he does against college level competition. I dont think his game will translate well enough. He could be a solid player but what a waste of a lotto pick that would be!

I think Ray Felton has more of a pro game than Williams. I know some people are high on Williams, but not me. Secondly, I would take Gerald Green before any of these players except Bogut and *possibly* Williams.

I agree Briggs, I been saying the same thing about Marvin from the get-go. He's got extradionary talent for the college game but once he gets in the NBA theres so many players that have the same skills and athleticism as him that its *possible* that he wont have as much of an impact on the Pro game like he does the college game.

Who do you like better Felton or Paul? I personally like Paul better just because he plays more under control then Felton does and doesnt committ as many turnovers but I think Felton has less of a chance to shine since he's surrounded by the talent that he's surrounded by. If he was on Wake he could be doing the same thing as Paul but I guess we'd never know. Both would make excellent pro PGs though.

If Isiah wants to get real, he has to explore trading Marbury.

that I agree with wholeheartedly, eventhough I don't think it will ever happen and I'm still hopeful that pairing steph with another star player from this draft can work.

But if we're going to ever sign a star we're gonna have to do what Phoenix did and unload Marbury. Marbury is not a PG in my mind. I like it best when he's not scoring and TT, jamal, ariza and co are having their once in a blue moon great games and it's usually not because steph is setting them up. other than his over-used pick n roll with Kurt, he doesn't know a thing about leading a team by setting up player.

Since he'll never get traded, I'm hoping we get a star player from this draft that will overshadow stephon so that he is no longer the focal point of the offense because when he scores big we usually lose.

Oh, oh well then. I would say I'd rather have Felton the Deron. Felton already knows whats it is like to play on a team that is chock full of talent and what it takes to share the wealth on offense on a championship calibur team. I like Deron's grittyness and defense by it takes more then grittyness to be a lotto pick and Felton has all the skills that make up an excellent Pro plus he wants the ball in pressure situations, something very few players show nowadays. I know you guys can come back at me with how Shane Battier displayed the same kind of skills that Deron shows now and he was a lotto pick but lets be honest, Shane is a roll player on a Above Average team... not lottery worthy.

gerald greene is nasty... and at his age/size I think you have to take him before any other guard in the draft, especially because I think he will be better than all the other guards. McCants is a bit undersized for the 2 and i dont think felton is the solution for us. With Greene our backcourt is set...we could always move marbury for another point guard if we dont wait too long. obviously #1 is bogut but Id rank Greene as my second option.

Felton is very solid but based on team needs I just cant take a PG with the lottery pick. Now if a solid PG slipped I would have no problem with moving up, like what happened w/ Jameer Nelson. Look at how solid Francis was been at 2 with Nelson playing the 1... something like that.

the reason ORL can get away w/having 2 small G's on the perimeter is because they have 2 bigs like Howard & Cato patrolling the lane...that would be a disaster in NY.

I agree and I don't think starting Francis at the 2 is going to work great in the long-term if Orlando wants to ever go deep in the playoffs as opposed to continuing to be a lottery team.
