Jeez...why do we keep dwelling on this "key to the deal" nonsense. It's just a figure of speech or a way of selling a player. Obviously Isiah wouldn't do KVH for TT even up because that's not a fair trade. Getting Nazr put it over the top so to speak, so that's why he's a "key to the deal." He didn't say he thought Nazr was the best player in the deal, or the best player we were getting in the deal or anything like that. But he obviously wouldn't have made the trade if he wasn't gonna get Nazr.

absolutely correct

VDesai ain't sensitive, he's just speaking the plain truth. I'd like to add something to his assessment: trading Nazr DOES NOT mean that getting Nazr was a 'mistake,' or that he was no longer 'the key to the deal,' etc.

Here's what it is. TT for KVH straight up would not have been a good trade for us, so we got an extra asset (Nazr) so that the total package coming in was better than the total package going out. We later turned around and traded Nazr because, again, the total assets coming in were better than the asset we sent out. Plain and simple.

I think it is too early to assess Nazr on the Spurs. He is still a little injured. Let's also not forget Pop is not the type of coach to throw a player in the lineup if that player is injuried or does not know all the plays. I think the Spurs are just allowing Nazr to rest. Remember Pop use to go long periods without playing Malik Rose.

yeah because he's 6'4 and Duncan is the PF. there's no reason why Nazr shouldnt be getting big minutes over Sean Marks and Horry with duncan out other than the fact that he's garbage.
