Pryz is an unathletic tall slow player. I think he's reached his potential at 6 PPG and 7 RPG (unless he gets huge minutes on an awful team). He's been in the league many years and never shown that he's capable of being more than a mediocre role player. Butler, in contrast, is a very athletic 19 year old. You really think the high end of his upside is to become a Pryzbilla type player?
I think I also said that Butler and Ariza combined have more upside than Pryzbilla
Thats nice. Conveniently ignore actual facts showing that Pryz is averaging 8.6 pts, 10.2 rebs and 2.4 pts in a starting role for 35 games. Yet somehow his potential is 6 ppg and 7 rpg. Maybe Portland is not a good team, but you can't deny that they have a talented roster, and several good players up front (notice he was starting before Randolph got hurt). And as BRIGGS mentioned earlier in this thread, its not like people just stand around waiting for you to get a rebound or block a shot, whether its a bad team or not. Yet somehow his potential is 6 ppg and 7 rpg.
Combining Butler's upside and Ariza's upside really have nothing to do with discussion anyway. Getting someone like Pryzbilla would've been nice at the start of the season, when we had no real backup center, and none that could block shots. He showed enough rebounding/shotblocking potential in his late year stint in Atlanta to merit a look. This was a guy available for the LLE.
