but zeke liked vazquez's game better. Nazr could to if the defenders all move out of the way and let him go through. I think this guy would be a nice mid 1st round pick but too raw and not enough upside to be a lotto pick

I'm not locking in anyone. But there are going to be teams who want this kid. How many athletic 7 footers are there? What I am saying is that right now he should be on the high end of the radar.

who cares, for instance if we pick 9th and hes supposed to go 15th, so what you reach a little bit if you like the player. we'll see

maybe you've read this, but I found an interview article on Petro.

It says that he used to play soccer & karate. both of these sports probably helped him gaining his great quickness and body control.

i'd love to watch a few of his game. Did isiah check him out during his Euro trip?

we need a 7 foot C. I understand that this kid might be raw, although you can clearly see his incredible agility and athletiscm. hey nothing is guaranteed past Bogut and Marvin Williams. Take those two guys out of the equation because those will be nBA superstars.

The bottom line is you cant teach being 7-0 250 with tremendous agility and athletic ability BUT you CAN TEACH HIM:>)

If you add in a 7 footer who will eventually become a DEFENSIVE force[hopefully with Ariza and three guys who can shoot, move and defend with solid depth, that could be a team.

We need a 7 foot player. I would not just waste a 9-10-11 pick just for the sake of it. but if this kid is anything that is purported, anything like the potnetial on that video clip, he sure desrves big time attention from our scouting staff, and possibly quick action to hide him or lock him up by guaranteeing him a draft spot.

Might we be getting a bit carried away? That's an impressive clip, but if you wanted to, you could probably find an equally impressive clip of, say, Harold Miner.

if it were a G Id agree with you. but 7-0 250 is a different story

Exactly. You can count on one hand the amount of players in the NBA that size that can do that...blow by someone on the perimeter and take off a step or two past the free throw line to explode with a dunk of that much power. That's some exceptional athleticism. Diop and James are kind of bad comparisons because they are fat/large and don't have the kind of explosiveness that Petro showed in this clip. The best comparison is Dalembert who has a similar body type and was also raw offensively. The flip side is Moiso, but this guy is bigger. We'll see how he shows himself in workouts etc. No one really has enough data yet to judge him.

we will see once rookie camp starts! I cant wait! but for now I will go by the numerous scouting reports from people who actually saw these guys play. Don't get me wrong i'd love to have Petro if we make the playoffs and get the 14/15th pick with splitter and vazquez most likely gone but thats it! unless Petro really out plays the other bigs in rookie camp which i doubt because from all the reports this guy is at least 5yrs away from developing offensively.

A 7 footer who plays good defense and has the offensive game of Mohammed would be awesome!

I don't think Nazi had any problems gettin his 10 pts a game, he was good at collecting garbage pts. If a guy blocks shos, rebounds, and plays overall team D, and does what Nazr did on offense, you someone like Deke, which I think is a an excellent value at 8-10 pick.
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?
