Haven't you guys realized it yet. The Knicks are making their useless push for the playoffs. You know the Knicks mottto don't trust the young well thats what they are doing with Sweetney and Ariza. They will sacrifice their development for Penny, Mo Taylor so they can get more veterans for them in trades.

I have totally given up on the Knicks and their ideology. Because IT says one thing and does another.

it's funny b/c i'm not even talking about the production on the court. if i want one thing accomplished for the rest of this season is for us to know whether or not sweetney can start and log heavy minutes or is just a 6th man. we have no idea if he can be the starting PF for a team. we know he's effective in 15-20 min stretches so why not give him the minutes to see what he can do. this changes draft strategy and offseason acquisitions. that's all i'm asking for. so whether he can't handle the load and is a career 6th man or can start and do quite well with alot of minutes, i don't care, i just want to know what he is.

I don't understand why people have a hard time understanding that. They automatically think Sweetney has been a disappointment instead of realizing that the Knicks have always been about playing the mediocre vets because they think we have the best chance at making the playoffs that way and instead we wind up with 30win seasons.

If you think Sweetney is getting enough time to prove that he can our PF you are not watching the games. He is only getting 19mins per game since the deadline trades. And he hasn't played a single 2nd & 4th quarter yet because you know the Knicks are going to go with the guy making 10million a year.

BOTTOMLINE: SWEETNEY HAS NOT BEEN GIVING OPPORTUNITY TO PROVE THAT HE IS THE BEST PF ON THIS TEAM. THEY ARE TOO AFRAID TO PLAY YOUNG PLAYERS LIKE THEY'VE ALWAYS BEEN IN NEW YORK. BY THE WAY HE WAS THE ONE WHO SHUT DOWN SHAQ ALL GAME BUT WAS NOT ALLOWED TO PLAY IN THE 4TH QUARTER WHEN SHAQ AND THE HEAT TOOK OVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Exactly its not like him being overweight means he can't play at all in the 4th quarter. The reason he doesn't play if because they think Taylor is a young allstar and they don't even take into account that he plays 0 defense.

JVG had him on IR and here he is playing significant 4th quarter minutes for our Knicks! when we have better options with Sweetney and JYD!

but seriously, why do you think they are not playing Sweets that many minutes? I would think they were going to give him about 35 mins/game till the end of the season and evaluate in the off season. Has he run out of chances or is this just a slight bump?

i don't think they're giving up on him or shipping him out. I think isiah got us totally logjammed with all these PF's - and expensive ones too. It's ridiculous to have Mo, Rose, JYD, Sweets all on the roster together. Herb's either under orders to play the 2 new guys or he's just understandably confused about what the hell he's supposed to do.

That was a big reason that I objected to the trade. The Knicks dont bring in expensive "talent" just to let them rot on the bench.Even if its at the expense of someone like Sweetney. We saw this with Eisley and Anderson. Now we are seeing it with Rose and Taylor.

My take is a little different. I think Isiah knows that Sweetney is in fact their mainstay at the 4. I also think that Isiah, Herb and Aguirre know that more pt for Sweetney and Ariza would make a big differnce (positive) in our won loss record. They don't want that right now (neither do I). I'd much rather have what we have now....play hard but lose. I have very little doubt that we lead the league in close losses...and that's perfect. In short, Isiah has us tanking the season to get as far down as possible in the lottery. Kurt, Tim, Penny and to a lesser extent Taylor (we'll be keeping Rose and JYD) offer an opportunity to trade for picks in what will end up being an extremely deep draft (due to the possible minimum age requirement, etc). Everybody and their mama is gonna come out this year. Isiah knows what he's doing. Sit tight and enjoy the ride.

05' Picks: Petro, Blatche, Schenscher and either Stoudemire or J. Lucas III. All four would make this squad.

but then why did they win all those games? I think they won something like 8 of the last 9 before they collapsed in the last 2.

And why was Herb so pissed about bad shot selection in the postgame!

I'd love to believe that but it just isn't the case. The Knicks are known for playing the big money guys. Like someone said, its the same thing with taylor/penny as it was with Eisley playing over Frank Williams and Shandon playing over Demarr Johnson

Looks to me that Sweets is not a key piece to this team's future. I think Zeke is going to trade him over the summer, to acquire more talent.

if thats the case then I can't complain since he is the PF with the most value on this team. It makes sense since he's starting but not getting the minutes. I'd hate to see Sweetney go but if he does it better be for a good player not an overpaid injury riddled veteran bum!

seriously man. i am so heated about this.

they are actually hindering his development. 2nd game in a row, ZERO 4th quarter action. i mean, is it a coincidence that when he's in the game, we build leads. he leaves the game...and we lose the lead. is there some sort of correlation there?

like albert einstein once said, "E equals LET HIM PLAY AND GIVE HIM THE F'N BALL!!!"

oh, i'm sorry, i forgot we needed to get mo taylor incorporated into our rotation and get him into game shape. what a joke.

Your post is rather vague but let me add my two cents. if you are talking about the Heat game then you could have seen that Sweetney was in foul trouble and Mo' taylor was hitting shots like he was on fire

Have you seen the movie Anger Management

The answer resides with Kurt Thomas....He is the link that has to go....Because of him, this Knicks team has been without an identity for five years straight since Ewing....From Layden to Isiah, they have both failed to realize that Kurt is not suited for a team without a true Center...That boy is a bench player at best and that is about it...He is a hard worker but he doesn't offer anything other the pick & roll...

You still talking about Kurt Thomas has to go. Then who is going to play center? Malik Rose?

May be KT, Sweets and Craw for Hughes, Brown and a throw in like Jefferies or Hayes??

or Craw, Sweets and a pick for Wilcox and Maggette?
