I would take the guarantee and shut up. When you are 19 and someone says, here is 2.75mm $ guaranteed if you stay home and strength train, why wouldnt you? he has the option to try to go higher, hell he probably WILL go higher anyway, but if we get to him early and he doesnt workout for anyone, maybe he slips to us. The Celtics made a similar deal with Kendrick perkins 2 years ago. If this kid was playing in slovokia, hed probably be a top 7 mocker--he's built a lot like kristic or gasol, but he can handle the ball very well for that size and move out and shoot it. His family is from Russia, so he also isnt an American pure breed. Maybe thats why he is skilled:>)

Briggs, I have a feeling Zeke will make a deal like this with a guy he likes. I like this, it certainly maximizes the value of the pick.

Isiah isn't just looking at skills he's looking to see if they have the personality and drive to sucseed. I trust that eh will pick some guys that we probably were not even thinking about.

I never seen any of the high schoolers or euro guys so I can't comment until they start leaking info just before the draft like they always do.

You simply can't predict the draft anymore. The last two years the draft has been awesome. This year is gonna be another one of those years. Where will guys like Wayne Simien(sp?) Julius Hodge, David lee, Ryan Gomes, Channing Frye, and Chris Thomas belong?

When Isiah's numbers get called I'm sure he will have alot of guys left to choose from on his draft board.

I do hope you guys know I'm busting balls. I actually work for a French company. I'm sure you have heard of SocGen. Whats REALLY funny is Raven (UltKnick poster) has a buddy who I have worked with. Small world.

What do you guys think of Ronny Turiaf from Gonzaga with the late pick? 6-10 250 and a solid post player.

He is a PF...We need Centers...We have about 10 PFs on our roster right now....If we are going to draft, we have to either draft Centers or SF/SG/PG that can help our back court....However, in my opinion, both picks should be used to acquire 6'11/7' Centers, just like what the Bulls did with Chandler and Curry...

I lived in Paris until I was 4 then moved to America. I was born in Paris because my father was a missionary so he traveled the world preaching the word. He meet my mom in Ghana and they went to Paris to join the FAMILY.

I don't even really consider myself french. So I don't take offense to anything. I get in arguements all the time though because my boys keep calling me frenchie.

splitter is over 7'0 tall, a little skinny, young and still developing physically, but has loads of potential, and is a very skilled big man, although those skills are still a bit raw..
Splitter worries me alot. I think Isiah should stay away from him. He has been hanging around the draft board for a couple of years now. Chad Ford has been going on about him for like 3 years. I hear that he impressed scouts when he was 18 but has been so so ever since. And the recent Euro "bust" or not yet ready for NBA players should have people worrying. I think nbadraft.net is a horrible evaluator of talent, so is Chad Ford.
Isiah likes Petro from France, from what I gather. Who will probably be there around the time the Knicks draft and won't be reach.

NBA draft.net is a joke, on realgm there are a lot of foreigners on that board and they are pretty good sources of info on some of these euro guys.. I remember nbadraft. net comparing jared jefferies to a young scottie pippen..LOL!!

I think he can be a center on the NBA level. His energy/build remind me of Etan Thomas.

Come on dude! That wasn't call for...Isiah went to Europe to scout, isn't that the land of the white?????Isiah is looking for a combo guard that can play both the PG and SG position, but an excellent defender....There will many of players with that type of skills at 28/29

does Isiah even scout white guys?

why a combo guard?! why not make Crawford the 6th man combo guard off the bench! and draft a real SG!

I'd still take him for the right price since he'll most likely end up a Giant since no one wants to pay him
