From what I heard Tim Carter could be a goner. They might injury settle him to free up cap space. He just gets hurt too often. I like Jamaar Taylor as the no.3. Burress would be a huge get at WR. 6'5" 230 and got 20 YPC last year and 16 for his career. He's not the Johnny Mitchell of anything...he has produced in the NFL with 2 1000 yard season including a season a couple of years ago where he got 78 catches and 1300+ yards on a team that has Hines Ward as its no.1 reciever. And remember Pittsburgh has also always been a run first, run 2nd and run 3rd kind of team, so that's no small feeat.

Oh crap! Really, Tim Carter might be a goner? I really like him. EnySpree, I agree with you in that Tim Carter just oozes big play vibe. I hope this is not true.

Just looked at Plaxico's stat. This is his stat...
+--------------------------+-------------------------+
| Rushing | Receiving |
+----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+
| Year TM | G | Att Yards Y/A TD | Rec Yards Y/R TD |
+----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+
| 2000 pit | 11 | 0 0 0.0 0 | 23 273 11.9 0 |
| 2001 pit | 16 | 0 0 0.0 0 | 66 1008 15.3 6 |
| 2002 pit | 16 | 0 0 0.0 0 | 78 1325 17.0 7 |
| 2003 pit | 16 | 1 -7 -7.0 0 | 60 860 14.3 4 |
| 2004 pit | 11 | 0 0 0.0 0 | 35 698 19.9 5 |
+----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+
| TOTAL | 70 | 1 -7 -7.0 0 | 262 4164 15.9 22 |
+----------+-----+--------------------------+-------------------------+

He had 2 good seasons in 2001 and 2002. Then he started his decline in 2003 and bottomed out last year posting Ike Hilliard numbers. I don't know. Then again I really don't know enough about him. BUT...If the Giants sign him, I will be rooting for him every sunday. Big Blue Homer you say! YES--and proud of it!

Tim Carter has great talent but he's so damn injury prone...what good is talent if you're going to be on the IR half the time?

He only played 11 games last year. That 20 YPC number from last year is huge, especially in a run based offense.

they'll have to cut 1 of the veterans or convince some players to take paycuts to afford Burress AND address the backup QB & kicker positions...maybe cut Shaun Williams since they have Gybril Wilson who was phenomenal in his rookie season? my personal choice would be to get rid of Will "Toast" Allen & draft or sign a FA CB like Fred Smoot.

man I never got what the infatuation for Allen was. The guy sucks! I have never seen a guy get beat for so many big plays in one game! not even #41 Dave Thomas!

Imagine this offseason:
Pierce
Kareem
Burress
Smoot
Pace

they signed ex-ATL kicker Jay Feely today too...& i hear they have Jim Miller for their backup QB...this is 1 of the most active offseasons i've seen from the Giants in a long time.

i like it...i lllllike it allllllot!

I think he is due though. I think this year he finally gets some luck on his side and has a big year.

The Giants are due. Last year the Giants were playing well until Eli was thrown to the wolves. Next year the Giants get a fresh Eli, with Shocky, and Tiki.....maybe you Stick Plaxico next to Amani and have Tim Carter step in also. The offensive line most likely will get some help from the draft.....the offense looks good.

Giants are due man I just feel they are. They keep knocking on the door. They made it to the Super bowl a few years ago.....I think they might be able to win it all soon....why not next year?

Knicks, Giants, Rangers, Yankees.......gotta love em'!!!

what do you mean "they're due"? they've been absolutely horrendous for the past 2 seasons...they will have Eli in his 2nd season in 2005, their best player Strahan coming off a major injury, a suspect O-Line even w/the addition of McKenzie & not that great of a defensive unit either...i'd be happy if they even made the playoffs next season.

i hear that...if it wasn't for the Yankees NY sports would be complete garbage for the past several years...well, the Jets made the playoffs a couple times, but it's just not the same when the Giants aren't competitive...hopefully we won't have to wait long until they get back to their winning ways.

Red flags are showing! If I was the one about to audition for a big payday, I would have dragged my arse off the bed to get to that big payday.

Yep the Giants withdrew their offer. They were negotiating for basically 5 days. Him and his agent must've threw up some red flags for the Giants to withdraw their offer like this. Screw him if he didn't want to come to NY.

The Giants will probably now look to bring in a lower level WR like Corey Bradford, and maybe use the remaining cap space to sign a CB like Andre Dyson and trade Will Allen for draft picks.

good... he was overrated. Ward was always the best reciever on that team anyway. We still have the draft and options to trade for a guy. the cap space lets us take a player back that another team cant afford to cut. We still have great options open. I like that they gave him a good look, but to me he's not a #1 money guy.

Andrew I've been reading/posting there for like 4-5 years, but I haven't posted there much lately because there seemingly has been an influx of guys who don't talk football or are just pointless to argue with so I've posted less there.

I used to post there.. 1000 redundant topics and so much retardation. It would be like Agent Smith from the Matrix took over Bonn and Islesfan and a 1000 of them just posted everyday on BBI
