Magloire only makes about $6mm so the money doesnt work there. He's 27 and I am much higher on him than most around here. He's gotten better every year he's been in the league. He started a little late (I think we has 22 as a rookie), but I would love to add him.

KT works money wise but has a longer deal and NO would need more.

I think a realistic deal is KT + our lottery pick (assuming its not a top 3, I'm figuring its 8-12) + next years 2nd #1 (Spurs pick) for Magloire and NO's #2.

I would do this... you still have the Spurs pick and the NO pick (will be 31 or 32) and those are decent if you looking for a backup PG or combo guard.

I think this is reasonable for a 27 year old center thats gotten better every year he's been in the league. He plays hard on both sides and his size impacts the game. He's long, he changes shots. You put him next to Sweetney and you have a terrific starting frountcourt with tremdous size. Magloire is also a superior athlete and can run the floor and is skilled, he's not Nazr.

really? i assumed he made at least 8 figures since his salary is listed at the top in Hoopshype's team list for the Hornets above PJ who makes $8 mil this season:

http://www.hoopshype.com/salaries/new_orleans.htm

maybe we can ammend the deal like this:

KT & Crawford for Magloire & Chris Anderson

C - Magloire / Anderson
PF - Sweetney / Mo T / Rose
SF - TT / Ariza / JYD
SG - MLE or draft pick / Houston
PG - Marbury / Penny

maybe I am being overly sentimental but I want to hang onto Crawford. I just see the combo of him and Marbury really making our bigs more effective with their combined ability to break down the D.

i like Craw too, but i just feel he could be used to really get us the missing pieces we need at this point...it will be alot easier to replace him in the roster than get us a legitimate C imo.

your probably right... he's a good guy, very coachable and can be so explosive at times. Plus I hate the idea of signing a young guy and then dumping him a year later. I know it happens but it sucks. The guy's done everything and more asked of him, and has improved defensively as well where he gets his hands on tons of balls (leave the bathhouse jokes to yourself)

I agree with your center logic, TMS, but I just don't see the need to trade for Magloire right now. I think he's very overrated.

I also think Brad Miller is miles ahead of him. For Brad Miller, I would do the trade you suggested.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

If he was so great why do the Hornets stink so bad. That is our biggest problem we never see the flaws in other teams but only in ours. Magloire is a nice big men, but he ain't worth giving up Crawford and a pick for sure. His numbers aren't as good as they were two years. He is nice to pick up via FA, or reasonable trade.

the Hornets have been very good, and a playoff team for several years. They stink because Baron Davis hasnt played all year and Magloire broke a finger and also missed time.

I think this will be the first time Magloire will miss the playoffs in the last 4 years.

uh, maybe because he, Mash & Baron have hardly played any games for them this year & they have a team full of NBDL'ers? btw, that crappy ass team beat the Knicks this year too w/Lee freakin' Nailon as their biggest weapon...how sad is that?

And don't forget Mash. That guy was such a good ballplayer.

i don't like magloire as a player but he is a hard working no-nonsense center. blue collar type that would definitely fit into the way this team is being molded (seattle/bad boys v2). would i want him? no, i don't like him. would he fit in well here? yes.

tough to give up crawford nor do i think isiah has any intentions to do it.

geeze.. I forgot. That was a hell of a core until everyone broke down. Mash, Baron, PJ, Magloire and Wesley. They were a solid squad for a good few years.
