its hard to say that... I think he's been good. I loved the shoving match because it was over defense. These guys are finally showing some fight, and that they are sick of losing.

Penny is a good stop gap for us. He's fire sale trade fodder next Feb so keeping him around makes good sense. He's been a good trooper and his jumper has been pretty reliable. If he cant knock down the open shot when JAmal and Marb penetrate he's doodoo.

Also he's been playing VERY hard. Diving on the floor and really hustling. He's a shadow of his former self but we only have another year of him
I agree with everything here.

You guys can't see Penny's value right now, but if we make the playoffs this season, you will think twice about what you have said about him...Penny has the kind of game that a lot of teams desire in a 6'7" type of player. He can post up, run the ofense, plays decent D, has pretty good court vision, and so fort. Now, his price is too high because he no longer has the athletic ability that he once possess, but he is still a pretty valuable player......Ariza is being mentored by him, and that is a good thing....If he agrees to receive the midlevel next season, Isiah should consider keeping around.

Reezy should get 20 minutes at least. Anfernee can rot on the bench, or send him down to memphis again to rehab with Elvis.

We get younger and more athletic when Anfernee sits on the toliet!

Sorry, I have never liked him since his Magic days, let alone in PHX and now here! We need to break his ass and at least let Dolan get some insurance money on this human dung!

To his credit, he knows what to do, just not always gonna execute it!

I like Isiah not tanking and building up thse kids to think win-win-win, but less Anfernee and more Rezzy can't be bad!

Anfernee is still here next year. He is done if not for his contract.

I like dido's notes cuz he sees things no body else can see or hear!

believe it or not, by the next trade deadline next season

penny will be more valuable to the knicks than cablevision

of course the knicks are not winning with penny or ariza getting all of the minutes. maybe the "eye" would prefer to see ariza log more minutes than penny

i would like it also but at the same time

i do understand the nature of the beast

I say boo to this thread...I think Penny has been very solid lately. His J has been very consistent and I think he's been providing double digit scoring off the bench for the last few weeks. I thought his D on Kobe last night was real good...Kobe was really kind of out of the flow offensively during the middle of the game there and didn't shoot a very good percentage last night. Penny also seems to have a knack for getting a timely steal during the game. He made a couple of huge plays last night on that end. The guy is making 15-16 mil or whatever, but we can't do anything about that. I think he does add a lot to the team and is still a useful player out there.

Penny is almost certainly a goner next year. Ariza has gotten plenty of time and experience out there too prove himself, and I don't think he necessarily needs more playing time. I think the Knicks are doing a very good job of bringing him along thus far.

THAAAANK YOU...

i was reading this thread getting so frustrated... everything you said was on point, along with others who realize his value...

pennys a solid player, and i'm sure that even he knows that he's not worth his contract... but whats done has BEEN done... i would love to see him take the midlevel extension next season...

even if he's traded, which is almost definate, i would like to see him sign with the knicks after his contract expires at the end of next season... i'm positive he would play for damn near league minimum... the man's a katrillionaire with like 3 mansions...

you guys's love for ariza is turning you into penny haters... i love ariza too, but don't become blinded and start bashing penny just because he's on the court and trevors sitting down... a lot of times penny's not even playing at the 3 spot, he's in the 1 or 2 spot...

a couple of weeksago he didn't even want to coom back to the knicks! there's no way he'll want to re-sign and no way in hell Isiah resigns him when he's looked at him as a valuable expiring contract.

Anfernee is nothing but cap fodder. If he did not have that contract, or any contract for that matter he would not be on this team. He is famous for his bad attitude and selfish play. He is a true diva! I think he tries, and he makes so much damm money he should. If he does not get traded by the deadline next year he gets waived.

Isiah made a nice move by opening spots for perhaps the two best CBA players. Its not easy to do this time of year, and may have gotten some good talent.
