I think the combination of the players playing harder for Herb, getting rid of Nazr and picking up Rose automatically gets us out of the running for a top pick. We'll be somewhere in the 7-13 range but we can still package that pick with Kurt/TT/Penny and the 29th pick to move up.

All is possible. Isiah is not dumb, unlike popular belief, Isiah has a plan, and it is a very good one....He will need about four years for us to really enjoy the fruit of it, but it will be a very nice one...

Please go away for four years. Then you can come back and we
can discuss the fruit of Isiah's labor.

Panos! it is not my fault if you are a skeptic. You are just like the other nonbelievers whom have once believed in Layden.....

non-believer? What? Is Isiah Jesus?
Besides, I have not condemned Isiah, although I haven't loved
all his trades, and in particular the TT trade. But neither
do I have blind faith.

Furthermore, I hated Layden.

Panos! let's talk about tonight's game. Who is going to guard the versatile Odom? I sure hope that TT is not asked to complete that task, because there is no way for him to slow or guard Odom. Although they both are the same hight, but Odom has a much larger determination at winning a matchup than TT does. Maybe Malik and JYD will be asked to guard him. What about Mimm? who is going to guard him, because he is very mobile for a big man, and we know how Kurt does when guarding a mobile big man....

I think we have to give Kurt a shot on Mihm, if it doesn't work
out then switch JYD on him. As for Odom, I'm fine having Rose
start the game on him and see how we do.

Should we look forward to see the young kid "Butler" on the court tonight?

they should put Marbury on Kobe. See is Steph and keep him out of the paint. If he scores 50 on jumpers so be it. Plus I would just like to see Marbury challenged and pushed like that.

You must have forgotten that Marb is one of our worst defenders. Personally, I want both TT and Ariza guarding him. ARiza is athletic enough and TT is long enough. Detroit proved that is the receipe for keeping Kobe from beating a team, especially now that he doesn' t have Shaq..

Butler wont play unless its for 2-3 minutes at the end of a quarter just to get his feet wet. My guess is Taylor wont be in the rotation much this year either.. I'm guessing Herb is going to surround 2-3 scorers with Sweetney, KT, JYD and Rose and see how that works out. Kind of what Seattle does

Marbury is a bad defender because he doesnt play hard there. When he's challenged and puts forth the effort he's solid, always has been

Kobe will destroy any one of our defenders. Since Marbury is one of our main options on offense, I would rather not tire him out by defending Kobe. Let Ariza try guarding Kobe.

Agreed. Frankly Ariza may just be the best choice in defending him anyway.

If I'm Herb I use JYD, Ariza, Penny and even Rose to just be physical with him. Your not going to stop him but bang him around some. We have 12 guys active, you use everyone on him at different times. Never let him get comfortable and the minute he dunks go to a zone, then a big guy, then a small fast guy. Have some fun making his night a pain in the ass and hope Odom doesnt light you up

yep, Reezy and Penny on kobe, marbs get's a vacatoin with atkins (three point shooter) and TT takes out Odom.

Then we rotate bodies on their no name front line.

This is a strange game...btw, am I misreading this, Knicks favored by 3 1/2?

actually, at any given time, Mihnm can have a big game. Especially if we are too busy at stoping Kobe. I would say put TT and the SG on Kobe and harrass him as much as possible. Be very physical with him and turn him into a jump shooter. If we allow him to get inside, it will be a long night. Keep him as far away from the basket by forcing him to give the ball to other people. JYD and Crawf are actually better suited to harrass him. TT is not know for his defense, therefore I would relieve him from that duty. Hopefully he can have a similar game as what he had the night he scored 27. If our bigs are in foul trouble which I expect in a game like tonight's look for both Taylor and the new kid to get some minutes...
