If not for Rose and KT we would have been under the cap.

Thank you IT for addding another year of sucking w/out hope.
how do you figure? The Knicks are only going to have 3 guys on the roster? Last I checked that doesnt work in the NBA, but maybe you know something I dont.

The Knicks wont ever have cap space, and cap space is the most overrated thing in the NBA. The draft is whats the most important. Dumars didnt use cap space. The Spurs used it to resign their own guy in Ginobili, the Lakers signed Shaq under the old CBA, but they drafted Kobe (draft day trade same thing). Spurs drafted Duncan.. the Nuggets arent that good, cap space earned Utah a good shot at Bogut as one of the 3 worst teams in the league.
Pho is the poster child for cap space working but that team was great before Nash and Richardson.

Wake up... Isiah hasnt been great but he's done some OK things. This notion of us somehow missing something because of future cap space thats never happening anyhow is retarded. Theres plenty of legit reasons to criticize Isiah, no need to make up one that means nothing.

i agree we won't ever have cap space but at this point, the draft is the ONLY thing that can really save us. at some point, i think we need to have cap manageability. that doesn't mean getting under it to sign a free agent but getting into the $60-65 mil range means have less $14 mil players and more $5-8 mil players. moving the latter is much easier and gives us the flexibility to make moves to fill holes without being handcuffed. that's why players like nazr + vin + moochie expiring are 10x better to have than one tim or penny b/c of flexibility and not having to take back AWFUL NASTY deals.

when you watch a game and tim thomas clangs another shot off the backboard how many times do you say "damn, $15 mil a year FOR THAT?".

it works both ways. obviously we'll never be under the cap. all i'm saying is that instead of taking back $14 mil players in penny, we need to be bringing back $5-8 mil players instead which means no more big $$$ deals.

thats what Isiah did when he signed Crawford. If we can get more players of the calibur of Marbury and we have to take back a contract like Penny then I would still do it. As long as its expires within 1-3 years like Penny's contract did.

Phoenix just wanted to get under the cap really quick thats why they gave up so much for nothing. There will be other teams like Phoenix out there looking to get under the cap.

The N.Y. media is the dumbest ever. Especially guys like: Vescey, Mitch Lawrence, etc. They are all after a story, they don't give a danm about the fans nor the team.

Under the cap? If we can just to under double the cap we are making progress! the cap is like 45million. We are the only team that has doubled it and then some. Portland, that bastion of conservative finance is no. 2 at 88mil! Nobody is watching the cap play, but look at the product that is being put on the floor. It is there becasue of the cap!

This is not Isiahs fault, nor Layden, nor earnie, nor Tapscott, nor checketts , nor Sterling, not donovans, nor Werblins.........But each of them manages to add a piece here and there and it starts adding up and snowballing out of control!
