Since we drastically altered our team yesterday and have an abundance of PFs, players like Sheldan Williams, Hakim Warrick, Wayne Simien and even PRO PFs like Zach Randolph now make 0 sense to us. I have come to the opinion that we should address the Houston problem with our lottery pick if, what I expect, a true C worth taking in the lottery is not available to us.

Im convinced that Guilermo Diaz, IMHO, is the best 2G in CBB. He has almost every characteristic you would want in a player. He has athletiscm that rivals any player that EVER played basketball, his body control on offense and defense is off the charts. He has a beatiful long range stroke and has the toughness of a John Starks. The only downside is he is 6-2, but he is so good that I would look past that because of the speed he can use on the D. I suggest that we pick him if we cannot get a C. He gives us that third guard, a player who truly has amazing basketball skills that is coupled with off the charts athletic ability, a true explosvive force from the 2. Like Bogut, he has exploded from Y1 to Y2 and is leading the ACC in scoring at 23.5 pts shooting 49% from the field. He will flourish in the nBA, quite like Ben Gorodn and Dwayne Wade iMHO. If we settle for a position player who is not as good as a lottery pick, we will pay for it. Diaz is a pure lottery pick, quite frankly an amazing player who keeps on coming on. We have NEVEr had a player in NY with his athletiscm, which rivals ANY NBA player in history.

I haven't seen him. Any idea why he is not even projected as a first round prospect in the Mock Drafts? I'm assuming their is something about him somebody doesn't like besides his lack of height.

Again Mo taylor's contract alone @10mil can get you a young allstar. Baker & Moochie combined totals 6mil and you cant get a star for 6mil you can get a role player like a Kurt Thomas but we have too many of those. WE NEED STARS.

Swift is not a star and he will problably go somewhere else anyway, I dont want to be let down in the offseason. How about Steven Hunter does he make you mouth water? He can be had for Baker/moochie but are we winning a championship with steven hunter at center??

he's on some mock drafts in the lottery and he is climbing.

every last NY fan would love this guy, when you see his body control, his speed and athletiscm with his skill set, his toughness, he makes an ideal candidate for an impact 6th man very much like Ben Gordon. we definitley need a 6th man type who brings energy and skill.

But lets hope we get Bogut, Bogut is by far the best player in this draft, second place isnt close. IMHO.

I read somewhere that Diaz has a 50 inch vertical. I've seen him play a few times, explosive seems to be the best word to describe him.

I'm with Briggs though, it's Bogut or bust. These wins are hurting in the long run, they need to be in that lowest-5 bracket to have a chance at the 1st pick.

If we were gonna tank we needed to trade Kurt not Nazr and even then the chances wouldn't be all that great at getting Bogut. and no one is going to trade the #1 pick. I'm still hopeful that someone really makes an impression on GMs and Bogut slips to #2 or 3. Then we can trade Kurt for a pick in the 14-19 range and send all 3 1st round picks to a team lucking to get more than just 1 good player and isnt completely sold on Bogut.

I know he has something like a 45-47 inch vertical leap, but thats only a facet of any basketball player. Its the skills, the toughness, the competitiveness that makes the package and this kid has all of those. On top of it he would be a marketing jewel. Having a Peurto Rican star in NY on your team sells tickets, INCREASES TV viewership, sells cable subscriptions which is ultimately why they do this.
