Great. Layden-like trade. We got 0wned!!!!
Did Layden ever *acquire* first rd picks? Today's moves are the opposite of what Layden would do.

I like the San Antonio trade and hate the Houston trade. Really bummed about the Houston one, actually.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

This is so dumb.. ESPN radio is still saying we have a first round pick from the Rockets.. I feel like killing someone
That sounds too good to be true. We'd be going into the offseason with 4 1st rd picks and $30 mil in expiring contracts! I'd be thrilled

If that's true, I'd be very pleased. If it's that we gave up a second rounder, I'll be very pissed.

Listening to the pregame show on ESPN radio and they are still saying that Houston is giving us a first round pick...
"This is a very cautious situation that we're in. You have to be conservative in terms of using your assets and using them wisely. We're building for the future." - Zeke (I guess not protecting a first round pick is being conservative)

This is a terrible F#%$#%#^ING trade. Isiah this really sucks. Giving up our #2 draft pick next year is like a #1 for other good teams. THIS REALLY REALLY SUCKS. Ruins the whole day.

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

The 2nd rder is not a huge deal to me. If we're getting back Houston's 1st rd pick, I definitely don't mind giving up the 2nd rd pick

We don't have a 2nd rd pick. The pick would (ironically) be Houston's 2nd rd pick, which might be in the late 40s or even 50. No one knows the details of these trades yet anyway. It's time to calm down

On the Knicks web site it only mentions the Knicks giving up a 2nd rounder. If this is true Isiah has no clue with this trade. http://www.nba.com/knicks/news/taylor_050224.html

Both the Knicks and Rockets official websites are saying we didn't get a first rounder from Houston, and that we gave up the 2006 2nd rounder.

let me say this, when we were playing well, Nazr was playing well. he slipped a bit and I have NO problem trading him for rose and picks. But the insanity of taking omn 13mm for another PF and giving what will be another pick in the upper 30s =equivilant to a low first rounder like this year, is mind-boggling.

there is no direction and thats the biggest problem. if this was the case why not go after Webber?? he atleast could man the 5 in the east.
RIP Crushalot😞

Exactly Briggs. These are contradictory moves. Where exactly are we going with this?

Are we gonna turnaround and trade Mike Sweetney and Jerome Williams for Eddy Curry in the Offseason? That would be the only way the Taylor deal makes any sense to me.

So the net effect of the two trades (if there is no 1st rd pick in the Hou trade) is that we gave up $13 mil in contracts that will expire next year and got two 1st rd picks. That's still good in my opinion, although it would have been ideal to not do the Hou trade (if no 1st rd pick was involved)

Bonn you can look at it as a net if you want to spin it positive, but it doesn't make sense...its two deals...one good, one really bad.

No, it's one really good (2 1st rders for Nazy!), one slightly bad (getting a player with one more year on his contract and giving up a pick around #50).

Exactly Briggs. These are contradictory moves.
Contradictory moves would be saying we should tank (Briggs' former position) and saying we should get C Webb (Briggs' current position)

This is the Knicks, it is bound to turn into one good, and one really bad. We needed a pick from Houston. Instead, we gave up a pick. A very stupid move. I LOVED the SA trade. I HATE this one. It's almost as bad as the TT-KVH trade.

No what he's saying( or what I think he is) is that the Houston trade sucks but if you are going to do a trade like that then at least do the weber trade because you're getting a great player when he's healthy. There is No reason to do the Houston trade.

Maybe that's what he's saying; I can't figure it out since he never wanted Webber. Either way, the positives of getting two 1st round picks surely outweigh the negatives of an extra year on Mo's contract and giving up a 2nd rd pick around #50

Sure, the net result is positive. The problem we have is we have no clue why Isiah bothered with the Houston trade. It makes him seem like a man without a plan.

So why are people focusing only on the negative? I'm disappointed over the Houston trade but quite happy with the overall outcome. I'll take a net positive outcome any day
