Even Marbury shouldn't have holded the ball so long, I'm pretty sure he won't do that next time. Also, I think Lenny should have taken a timeout and come up with a set play instead of hoping Marbury/Crawford can score

Now is the most important moment for Isiah to make his mark on the team. If he doesn't enter into serious negotiations with Phil Jackson to be the next full time coach of the Knicks (even if its next season), then Isiah is not serious about making the Knicks a winner. You need a top level coach in this league. I know people will say that we don't have the superstar bigs to interest Phil, but if Isiah can't sell coaching the Knicks to Phil with all the prospects they have for improvement, maybe Isiah shouldn't be the President.

I know there are other good coaches out there, but if Isiah doesn't go after Phil, especially because of old fueds, then he isn't doing his job. I don't want to be watching a team coached by Brendan Malone, Mike Malone or Herb Williams then wondering why we didn't call time out up by 1 with the ball with 30 seconds to go to run a play. This team needs a good coach.

Go after Phil, Isiah.

rvhoss i like your post. I've always liked Herb. Though I'm surprised he's returning to coaching and putting his 1.000 winning coaching record on the line!!!

My wish list for Herb:

1. In practice FORBID Craw from taking outside shots. Run scrimmages where he has to drive to the hoop, move in for mid-range shots or running floaters. Get this guy's mind disciplined on moving that ball in closer.

2. Obvious one - play Sweetney. And make everyone look for him in the post.

3. Another obvious one - play Ariza. Just turn the dude loose. He's got the best on-court instincts for a 19-year old since Lebron James (okay, so there hasn't been enough time yet for any other 19-year olds since Lebron James )

4. Yank guys quicker when they're sucking. Play the action guys more. Especially for their D (Dog, Brewer, Ariza).

5. Please try to find a contributing role for Vin.

6. Get guys to run. How many times last night was Marbury pushing the ball and had NO Knicks with him?

Lenny put the players in a position to win.....with the personel he had.

Timmy is "hurt", but when he does play he's got this whatever attitude. He not a player that plays to win. He seems disinterested with the game.

Houston is still "hurt". I think it's his pride more than anything. He should sit out the rest of the season. He's has to get his legs right. Take another season off.....and go try to find some Dell Curry footage cuz that's where he's going.

KT is a jumpshooting power fwd. That is retarded in the wickedest sense. Karl Malone was a jump shooting power fwd, so was Bob McAdoo, and Larry Bird.....but is KT even close to any of these players? Heck no......so why are there so many plays called for him on the pick and roll, kick outs, etc? Those types of plays should be called for Houston.

JYD, Ariza and Sweetney playing less than 20 minutes has hurt the Knicks. Timmy and KT are holding these guys back? Since when did Timmy or KT ever command that much respect?

Lenny is old school so he played the vets. He has to go with the experience until the young guys learn to cut the bonehead mistakes, and fouls.

Sorry Lenny......Go back to Seattle and live the good life brother.

Like Danny Glover said, "I'm too old for this s**t!!!!"

press conference started...

1050espnradio.com has promised Knicks coverage for the rest of the day. Yep, they offered him a front office job but he is not sure if he will accept.

Last second wins and losses as well as blow out wins and losses are on the coach.

Not to call time out last night was absurb (they had 3 or 4 I believe)

While you can say that lenny was the fall guy, HE IS THE COACH. They should be winning not losing.

THE COACH PREPARES THE TEAM...THE TEAM RESPONDS TO THE COACH.

We can either fire lenny, or make one your preposterous trades sending players out of town that ARE producing for Lenny.

Maybe TT will come out of his slump. Maybe Craw will take better shots. Maybe Houston will stay in a suit the rest of the season.

One thing for sure, I've noticed no GROWTH from this team over the course of the season. Last night's game was awesome, but it still didn't seem like they were being coached as much as just playing good basketball.

I want to see the best player keyed on. I want to see hard fouls. And I want to see players going to the line (forcing the issue).

Most of all...I wanted to see this change come, because I loved the knicks and after last night, I think I was about to call it a season.

now I'm not.

When they play bad - its on Lenny. When they play good they are just playing good basketball. One things for sure no one would want to coach with you as GM.

Look Lenny didn't do a good job - but on the other hand until someone proves they can win with this team - I wouldn't knock him too much. In spite of the fact that this board over values everyone that comes off the bench and plays good hoop for 15 minutes every once in a while - I don't believe this team has good personal.

Good that Lenny resigned before Isiah firing him, which could have been within the next week, if no earlier, but now this gives Herb, at a perfect record, 1-0, to start his coaching career until we can get a regular head coach and not an interim.

If Herb is willing to play Sweetney more and Kurt less and discipline Crawford by taking him out when he takes bad shots, then this will be a wonderful move for the Knicks in the long-term.

Thats exactly what I'm thinking!

I think the reason Zeke chose Herb is because he's not one of his guys whereas Suhr and Aguirre are and Malone is a "prodigy" I guess it's the best way to do but I'm gonna be sad when Herb is let go after the season.

Actually hopefully he stays as in assistant. In the meantime, I'm going to root hard for him so that he proves to everyone that his perfect winning percentage as a head coach is no fluke!

I really want to see is more Sweetney, especially at center. He stays out of foul trouble there, gets to the line and camps out under the basket. He also works the glass. The height doesnt bother me.. Nazr or KT arent changing guys shots anyway

now that you put it that way it would make sense to play him more at center. for one centers are slower. guys like him and Brand can get away with it at 6'8'' because they have extremely long arms and Sweetney proved lastnight he can be a good low post defender doing an excellent job on Yao!

This just made my day. We bring in the undefeated Herb Williams (1-0)! Only a matter of time before Sweets wins the starting job.
