let's trade them Crawford for Q. Rich.

[Edited by - TMS on 01/21/2005 17:19:47]

Oh man, in a freakin heartbeat!!!!!!!!!!!!
Q-Rich is more of a spot-up shooter. If Jamal can play more intelligently, I think he has much more upside.

Q a spot up shooter? Bonn are you serious? Q can post, is a great defender, can drive like Maggette....telling me Q is a spot up shooter is like telling me Amare is more of a rebounder.

Pheonix got back a hornet 2005 2nd round pick which is a valuable pick because its probably the first pick of round 2. theyll be able to find someone who slips with that pick to compensate for some of the younger bigs they lost.

right now Pheonix has the Bulls pick their pick--liklely 27-30 and pick 31. looks like a candidate where we could buy that Bulls pick for a 2mm$ if we can get something like two picks in the top 15, we should be able to do some things.

Yeah, he can defend and rebound. I was just talking about on offense. http://www.nba.com/playerfile/quentin_richardson/index.html
Check out his profile. Nearly 60% of his field goal attempts are three pointers! On offense, he just hangs around the perimeter. I could already hear Knick fans screaming at him if he brought that 37% FG% to NY

Go to http://82games.com/04PHO5A.HTM and you can see that nearly 80% of his shots are jump shots too.

Damn, every team are trying to make moves, except for the Knicks....I sure wish that Houston was healthy, perhaps we would have been able to offer him to a desperate team....

Unless I am reading this wrong and please tell me if I am, his shooting number are....

Jumpers-77%
Inside-23%
Close-18%
Dunks-4%
TipIns-1%....that adds up to 123%....how am I supposed to interpret that?

http://82games.com/04PHO5D.HTM

According to this, his assisted FG % (however you want to interpret that stat...is it how many of his shots are assisted or the percentage on the shots that are assisted....)is 57%. If the definition is the former, then 43% of his shots are unassisted....If 43% of his shots are unassited and this is a team that is tied for 8th in the league in assists and a team that has the assists leader in Nash (http://www.nba.com/statistics/sortable_team_statistics/sortable1.html#top, http://www.nba.com/statistics/2004/default_regular_season_leaders/LeagueLeadersAPGQuery.html?topic=0&stat=15), then he has to be more than a spot up shooter, IMO.

Also, by Comparison, on the same site,

http://82games.com/04NYK4A.HTM

Crawford's #'s are
Jumpers-86%
Inside-14%
Close-12%
Dunk-2%
Inside-1%

http://82games.com/04NYK4D.HTM

His other numbers are...
Assited FG-58%, on the 22nd ranked team in assists (at 19.97 per game, by comparison, PHX averages 22.37) meaning that, if this stat is taken as the number of his field goals that are assisted, which you seem to be basing your assumption that he is a spot up shooter on, Craw is getting a higher % of assisted field goals on a lower averaging assist team.....which leads to the conclusion that Crawford is more of a spot up shooter than Q....

BTW, did I ever tell you guys I hate statistics?

You are reading it correctly; 77% of Q's shots are jump shots. He hangs around the perimeter way too much. You're right that Jamal has an even higher percentage of jump shots but at least his are much closer to the basket. He doesn't have an absurd percentage of his shots being 3s like Q does. Nevertheless, Jamal also needs to drive much more

you can argue that a smart 3 by Q is preferable to a stupid 2 by Crawford....I just think Q is a little more solid and brings more to the table....

Right now they both shoot stupid, low percentage shots (Q's just happen to be behind the arc). I think Jamal has more upside because he has much better ball-handling and much more quickness. He just has to decide to drive to the basket more.

My only argument is that is what they need Q to do...with Marion and Amare and JJ, all he really needs to do is stretch the D.....

I actually think Q is a much better player and has more upside and versatility, but I like my guards a little bigger and a little more physical.....This is just boiling down to persoanl preference...I just think Q is better.

I though jacobson was a big part of their 3 point attack?

Didn't Colangelo say that last December's blockbuster would be known as the "Lampe" trade?

Suns really do have a legit chance this year. If they can get delebert for shoeless joe jackson, they could make noise. Im sure colangelo had no idea how good this team could be this year. I think Jacobsen was a restricted FA and they would not reupp him. With some draft picks, they can likley can replace Lampe on the depth chart. Lampe won't put them over the top this year.

Isiah should not do a trade like that as we are not contending, we just pretending!

If they traded Lampe simply to get Jimmy Jack, Phoenix made a bad deal. They should have offered a similar package for Arroyo to keep Nash out of a harness. If the deal is a precursor to getting Dalembert, congratulations to Colangelo.

We are not contending or pretending. Orlando is pretending. Cleveland is pretending. I think we know full well that we suck. We're 17-22. Fool me once, shame on you. But fool me can't get fooled again.

Sh-t in the popcorn to go with sh-t on the court. Its a theme show like Medieval times.

What the Suns get with JJ is a sg that can score(hit the 3) and "DEFEND".

JJ has been to war in the playoffs while his two teamates are just getting their feet wet.

I see how it makes sense now. Marion is there starting PF and will get 30+mins there a night. So Q-Rich, Johnson, Jackson can play 3 deep at G/F. Or like someone said earlier They could swap Johnson for Dalembert.

i agree w/joe...i think Q fits alot more w/what this team needs...not that i was being serious anyway since the Suns would never make that deal imho...but it is a no brainer if it was even remotely possible for me...Q is a real physical SG/SF who can guard some 4's too.
