Everyone always does this we "could have drafted thing"? But would we have selected the right guy? With hindsite everyone knows who to draft - it's much harder before you see the guys playing in the NBA.

With Isiah doing the picking, I'm confident we would have selected the right guy.

Dampier/Davis/Dampier/Craw/Frank is a total disaster. Old, immobile front court who would get outrebounded and just plain destroyed by the likes of KG, Amare and Denver. Total disaster. I love these hindsight trades. While were at it, I would have:

1) drafted Artest in 99
2) let Houston go free, kept Spree
3) drafted Amare in 2002, kept Camby
4) coerced Vuja to come to America

Vuja
Spree
Artest
Amare
Camby

Man, that team is so much better than the current team. Isiah has NO IDEA WHAT HE'S DOING.

Come on, guys. It's a rough stretch, but they do have pieces and can make moves now and this summer. And this collection of young talent is better than anything we've had in a while.

If we would have kept that squad before Marbury trade, we could have been bad enough to have drafted AL JEFFERSON WHO BOSTON TOOK AT #15 6'10 265lb very athletic will be a star one day, DAVID HARRISON WHO INDIANA TOOK AT #30 7ft 250(Extremely athletic true center with decent all-around skills.)

in depends if you have faith on the guy doing the drafting. I would have no faith in Layden because he would draft the next Weis. Zeke has an eye for talent. He drafted Mcgrady! and has shown that he will draft a bigman when he drafted Camby. if he only had a history of drafting guards I'd be worried but he doesn't

What? Outrebounded and plain destroyed? Thanks for playing "whose on drugs?"
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

If we didn't do the McDyess trade we could have gotten Amare

If we didn't sign Houston to such bad contract, we would have more flexibility with him

If IT didn't extend KT we could have traded him for a big man

There are too many things to look in the past on. There is also absolutely nothing you can do about it so there is no point fantasizing over what could have happened imho

Antonio Davis is a disaster. You're telling me he could stop the elite power forwards in this league? And he isn't exactly a shot blocker either. I'd rather have Kurt.

Marbury has averaged 20.4pts 8.7assist 1.5stls on 46.1fg% and 84.2ft% 6.0attempts a game on the season.

21.1pts 9.1assist on 47.9fg% 1.6stls and 76.3ft% on 6.6attempts since Jan when he declared himself the best PG and we started losing. All this while Houston-Penny-TT have been hurting/big dissapointments though making around 45mil combined. Plus Crawford has also been out.

Marbury hasn't said negative things about his coach or teammates he has just been playing through all this though you could see the frustation of losing in his eyes after every lose. Im not mad at all for the Marbury trade he is still only 27 (will be 28 Feb 20). with 8 great yrs left. I think we do have an opportuntiy to build a contender in the next 3yrs when he turns 30-31 and contend for the championship for the next 5yrs.

The opportunity for big men hasn't vanished and won't vanish for all the yrs we have Marbury. Swift, Kwame, Dalembert all become freeagents. We have Muhamad & KT to dangle. We have our draft pick. We have Sweetney to develop.

verry very good post. the focus should be on what elite big man can we get to complement Marbury in contending for a title. It is the the players other than Marbury who are at fault for us not being able to get a big man because they are terribly overpaid and injury riddled. So focus on moving the likes of penny, TT, houston, & KT not Marbury

the one thing I will say about Marbury is the the two guys he gets compared to (not favorably) are both 4-5 years older than he is. Nash is 31 and Kidd 32. I see no reason why Marbury couldnt be a key part of something that takes 2-3 (more) years to build

the thing I like about Marbury is he produces regardless of whos around him, and at least statisticly he's made guys better. Nazr is clear benifiting from palying with him, just like Doleac did.

yep i said the samething a few months ago. imagine what he would do with a real PF/C. He would average 13 assists!

I like our chances to improve the team. Marbury isnt the first or the last to endure a rebuilding year. I still think the Knicks can find ways to start winning again. I'm baffled that TT is still in there. I'm wondering if Isiah point blank told him to play him so his #s are at least respectable. I hope not, but who knows.

i rather have him start over JYD who is great on the bench for 25min but is exposed as a starter. Ariza just isnt ready to start he isnt consistan enough yet. one game he looks great the next he looks like a deer in the headlights.

I know.. the guy is just tough to stomach. Somebody mentioned Nick Anderson and the drop off is about as mind boggling. The man is 6'10 with great athleticism and he's shooting 39%. Thats insane.. Its freaky how he's dropped off from last year. 16/5/45% last year. 10/4/39% this year... crazy.

that was me with the nick anderson comment. it's unreal. he missed two free throws and then went into oblivion.

tim gets all "fugazy" and plays himself into oblivion. the closest thing i remember was when mark jackson got fat and stu and mcleod benched his ass.

I think it's one of 2 things: the personal problems he's gone through this year or the injury he suffered to that stiff Jason Collins might've slowed him down.

And you got the nerve to talk about VC. LOL
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.
