that's what i was asking a couple of days ago -

do we build around marbury or do we find a PF/C to build around and PAIR him up with marbury?

i think the problem is that marbury is viewed as the franchise player adn the knicks have made him out to be the franchise player in all forms of media. i know it's to sell tickets but history has shown that marbury can not carry a team to victories. he needs the pieces around him. i would try to find the PF/C to build it around with a kwame/sweets tandem being my #1 choice.

TEAM.

Its about putting the right players together. TT and Penny are poison.

I was proud of the Don Chaney team that Allan almost carried to the playoffs. They played together and got the most of a limited roster.

We tend to look at this trade or that trade as adding better players makes for a better team. Not always, adding the right players to make each other better is how teams like PHX and Seattle are playing better this year.

TT plays for himself first, well then I don't want to pay him anymore! As a fan, Phuch him! Anfernee also, he is not helping the team. Reports that Vin is great in practice and the guys look up to him is great stuff. Diva acts of me first is not cool. Anfernee should be taking on Ariza and helping him. But we all knew Anfernee was a selfish prick for many years. He said the right things on media day, but the hell with him!

I agree. Bench TT and Penny and give Vin Baker some playing time. We need good personalities on the team, not me-first kind of guys.
Wishing everyone well. I enjoyed posting here for a while, but as I matured I realized this forum isn't for me. We all evolve. Thanks for the memories everyone.

I think the last 2 games have been pretty good in that regard. JYD/Ariza are getting the minutes at the 3. KT/Sweetney at the 4. Crawford/Marbury/Brewer/Houston at the 1/2. Nazr/KT/Sweetney at the 5.

I think TT's going to see some DNPs or 5-7 minutes stretches (too bad for him).

This Marbury's History stuff has got to end. You could have said MJ was a looser until they won it all and he had the right pieces around him.

Its about having the most talent on the floor- And Marbury is a top PG.

The team needs more pieces.

here's the scary thing courtesy of the daily news:

Tim Thomas practiced yesterday and is almost certain to start. The Knicks are 16-17 with Thomas starting at small forward. The decision on whether to go with Jamal Crawford over Houston is a much tougher one for Wilkens.

DJ.. I read that also. God I hope its not the case. TT has singlehandedly killed us this year. The more he sits the better... the only thing thats good about him is watching the expressions on Marburys face when he misses easy shots from 7 feet away.

tim is the SOLE reason we're not 21-16 instead of 17-20. there's no way around it. if he played anywhere close to last season, there's no way we're around the .500 mark. i haven't seen a dropoff this big since nick anderson.

If TT starts, I'm switching the channel to the ESPN game, plain and simple. That would be pure Thomas forcing Lenny to play guys he traded for. TT is worse then both JYD AND Ariza. When 2 guys at your position are better then you, you should never play. Hell, Houston at the 3 gives you more.

This makes me sick. I hope Tim Thomas breaks a leg his first play today. Where is Collins when we need him. For all we know he made that series better for us, at least we did not get blown out at home. With TT there we probably would have lost all 4 games by 20+!
A glimmer of hope maybe?!?

I think this is the reason Lenny keeps starting him- he keeps hoping for the TT of last year.

I wish Lenny would have him come off the bench- that might help him get back on track- starting the games hasn't done the trick- and he can't get worse coming off the bench...
