ok, here's a truthful opinion...your idea sucks...how's that? better?

I know my idea sucks.....

since we all know that smart arse......

You still haven't said what the Knicks should do.....You send the Knicks should wait for some guy named Impact Player........His name isn't in the NBA player directory........I didn't see him on NBADraft.net......neither did I see Impact player on a European league roster.

Who is this mysterious Impact Player and why are you keeping him under wraps?

Please share him with the class so you can appreciate our critizism.

By the way......

.....since a civil response doesn't register with you, see the above post for all future responses.

i already posted what i think the knicks should do...do i need to post it 5 times for you to finally comprehend that no one knows what types of impact players will become available in a year's time? no one thought we'd get Marbury a year ago...another star player could become available...until then, you don't make moronic trades like this & take on TONS of salary when you're not even significantly improving your team.

nice nice boys... here's the thing, when you cant get an impact player dont settle. If Layden proved anything your better with nothing than settling. Just turn the draft or FA and sign some 24 year old that will give you blood sweat and tears just to stay on your roster. We couldnt get an impact player for Ewing so we settled. We couldnt get an impact player for Rice so we settled. Couldnt get an impact player for Spree so we settled. Couldnt get an impact FA so we got Spoon. All of the sudden we had a roster of non impact players with puke contracts.

since Eny insists on specific players to be named, i'll offer a trade idea that i feel is alot more reasonable & that doesn't put this team into salary cap hell for the next 4 years...feel free to rip it apart if you like.
=======================
Nazr & Knicks' 2nd round pick for Marcus Camby
- considering our biggest need right now is athleticism & shotblocking in the frontcourt, i would go after Marcus Camby...since Nene is playing well i think he's there to stay, but Camby's health issues & contract make him a more attainable comodity...

factor in that Isiah drafted him, Camby himself loved playing here, & he is the shotblocking presence this team needs...the only problem once again is his health...but if you can make the trade for Nazr & a 2nd rounder for example, i think u have to do it...& in spite of his health issues, acquiring him is a MUCH safer bet than trading for Zo & taking back Alvin Williams in the process.

Kurt Thomas for Matt Harpring
- another trade i would love to make is for Matt Harpring from Utah...offer them KT for him straight up since Utah could use some help in their frontcourt...once AK47 returns they'll be deep at the SF position w/Kris Humpheries emerging as a good backup there along w/Kirk Snyder who can play some minutes at the 3 if needed...this puts JYD back at his more natural PF position, & you then can start Sweetney & finally see if he got what it takes to make it as a starter in this league.

after these 2 trades, you'd have a much better defensive team that's alot more athletic & better suited to run the floor...less of the stagnant, immobile players who can't defend & more of the type of role players that we can build a nice team with...then you add that impact star player through a trade sometime later on when you have some good, expiring deals to offer along w/draft picks or young players, & you have something.

C - Camby / Baker
PF - Sweetney / JYD
SF - Harpring / Ariza / TT
SG - Crawford / Houston
PG - Marbury / Brewer / Moochie
IR - Penny / Sundov

wow, a trade scenario that doesn't put us in salary cap hell for the next 4 years that actually improves the team...novel concept, don't you agree?

I hear you....

Tim Thomas and Penny getting back Rose and Donyell Marshall is settling?

I think the Knicks would be lucky to get either. Both are not world beaters but added to a team like the Knicks they both could make a difference.

I'm like searching through the league and can't find too many players out there......I just don't want to go down the road to the lottery again.

Guys like Stromile, Kwame could be had in the off-season.....I like the idea of getting Kwame Brown. I've seen enough of him to think he might be ready to take it up a notch......

Still that's just padding payroll next season.....the Knicks suck now. At the same time getting a guy like Kwame would just add to the log jam the Knicks currently have.

A trade has to be made.
Not the one I originally posted but something.

I'm thinking in a practical sense.....KT would have to go....for a draft pick or something....The Sweetney era has to start now so the Knicks could truly know if they need to go hunting down the Brands, and Webbers and the Stromiles and Kwame's.

You know?

actually those trades makes sense.....

We all know what Camby brings.

I also like Matt Harpring cuz he plays angry and is a tough as they come. Harpring is supposed to be in the same class as Timmy. Timmy is a whatever type of player. Harpring plays to win and you can tell. Plus Harpring has always been an above average rebounder for his position.

Was that hard to do you?

It annoys me that guys like Playa will get banned for trying to get a convo going and other guys get to stay here and just be pricks.

Camby and Harpring works for me....then the Knicks can stick Timmy and Penny on the IL since Penny wants to be traded so bad he needs time away and Timmy keeps saying he could careless and plays for himself first.

the problem is you cant predict the future. next year there might not be many impact players available. then again phoenix might be the worst team in the league before the trade deadline and want to move amare. houston might realize yoa doesnt fit with t-mac and want to trade him. you just never know who might be available next year, and thats a chance i'm willing to take. we should hold on to our contracts until just before the deadline next year (unless a no-brainer comes along), and see what we can get. if its nothing..........let the baggage walk.

in my eyes its a win win sitation. for once (as a knicks fan)

Letting Timmy and Penny walk is something that won't happen till 2006. Moochie and Baker will be going with them. That's enough cap to be players in the free agent market but if the Knicks do that they are basically tanking this season and next season.

I do not want to do that.

Making some low level trades like PMS said would be a good idea.
