So you're saying that it's the media's fault? It's the media's fault that the Knicks are even further over the salary cap than before and for a longer period of time? It's the media's fault that this team looks like it's been put together with very little thought as to how the pieces fit? It's the media's fault that Marbury still refuses to buy into the team concept which permeates through the entire team? It's the media's fault that Isiah's hand picked head coach is so lost and has seen the game pass him by? It's the media's fault that the Knicks are below .500? I guess you gotta blame somebody other than the architect of the team when you're pounding that Kool-Aid.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System

that's what i'm saying dude. how can we "blame" after just one season? where are fans getting this idea of "blow it up?" and that this is isiah's finished product? seriously, it's b/c it's been driven into our heads by reporters, analysts, etc. i'm just saying that if everybody was on the "get as many high paid stars as you can" bandwagon, we'd have completely different arguments. it's b/c they don't have any patience for plans that don't follow their own, just like you are already resolved to the fact that isiah has screwed this team up b/c 1. you don't like him and 2. you don't like marbury yet this team does have some nice young chips (which you won't admit to your dying day b/c of isiah) and this team CAN get significantly better next year. but all the critics, the same ones that were saying two weeks ago that marbury "gets it", whatever that is, "is now saying he's been a failure everywhere he's gone".

media can't be patient ergo, fans can't be patient unless it follows their plan. i had no problems "blowing it up" but i also acknowledge the fact it couldn't be done until 06/07 at the earliest. so i'm willing to give isiah 2-3 years before basing his "legacy" here as a failur on a now sub .500 team in january of his 1 1/2 year here.

TOO FUNNY, I just spit my drink on my computer that last line was hilarious!
JAMES DOLAN on Isiah : He's a good friend of mine and of the organization and I will continue to solicit his views. He will always have strong ties to me and the team.

PENNY THOUGHTS: With Houston hobbled, Penny Hardaway's absence has hurt the Knicks. On Saturday, two Knicks confirmed that Hardaway had asked to be traded two weeks ago.

"I think it's pretty selfish," one player said. "He should be out here with us."

Um...isn't this the same team concept displayed by Cain and Able?

if Dolan accepted it Zeke could rebuild this team through the draft. He has an eye for talent. I'm curious to find out if he woulf draft another Mcgrady or does he have the vision necessary to draft a dominant bigman. I don't know if he has as good a read on bigmen as he does on guards since he was a guard himself and won championships.

Problem is, Dolan probably won't accept it... look at how many fans on this board have already written off this season.. I'm sure there are many others who have lost complete interest in the team. Dolan will want a big change to bring the fans back.

If Isiah has his way, he should be very pleased that the Knicks are tanking... lotsa big men and point guards in the upcoming draft!

N.Y. has no clue to what they want to do. they have a coach who doesn't even have an assistant to his side that he hires, and that itself can be a huge problem...Isiah has to make a decision to either retain Lenny and allow him to have assistants that he wants or Isiah needs to promote one of the coaches that he hires to run the show. Credibility is a very big thing, and Lenny has none right now. Forget about it man, what we have here right now is a freaking joke, we will never get anywhere with what we have...Isiah has to either take full control of this boat or let Lenny do his things....

I think the firing of Dick Helm was the equivalent of a shakeup at that stage of the season... It was kinda like firing Lenny, without really firing Lenny. I'm sure Isiah is only using Lenny right now as a stop gap coach as well as a scapegoat, to "teach" the players how to play. Once the team gets good enough to compete, you can be sure that Lenny will be gone. Now that the Knicks are tanking, Isiah will probably do what he can to hang on to him
