I wouldn't want to trade Nazr for Daly. IMO that would be taking a step back to hope we could take a step foward. The only chance I think is worth taking with Nazzy is Curry, who clearly has an upside that eclipses Nazzy. In curry you can already see the skills there that need to be developed. In many ways curry is like a 7 foot sweetney minus the work ethic. Anything else, Nene, Daly, Tyson Chandler, or whoever is a small step backwards.

I like Dalembert but we should all be very clear on something, Daly brings athleticism and zero skills to the game. ZERO. If we could get him without losing Nazzy i would say do it. But don't think he will develop into some powerhouse center. Nazr is WAY more skilled than he is and has a much higher BBall IQ.

Nazr is working well with Steph. You should only trade that for someone that is able to work well without him (a center with a low-post game).

What is hurting us is KT's overall game. It really isn't what we need. People always disagree with me on this, but Juwan Howard has the same jumper PLUS he actually has a post up game. We should have made that trade a long time ago. He is still available, and if we can't get more for him, we should still make that trade, he is available, and whether you like him or not, he is an upgrade over KT.

Excellent point and the right guy is NOT Sam Dalembert!!

i think you are looking in the wrong direction. im not opposed to daling nazr, but it would have to be a good deal. Like anything else in this world, nazr's play has a value and his value has gone up exponentially.

If you put Nazr next to Tim Duncan and took out rasho, what do you think would happen?

While we arent getting TD anytime soon, we need to upgrade 4. The biggest misconception is the overrating that Kurt thomas gets.
Now, hes a good player, but that position--position 4 is where you need a force in most cases. If we had a force at 4, nazr wouldnt even be talked about. yes I would rather have a 7-2 285 pound C, but there arent any of value.

I would hope do be able to put together a package that would include KT Sweetney T Thomas and even Ariza if I can get back another impact player, even if its at the 3 like Ron Artest, THAN try to upgrade 4 in the offseason by going after Stromile swift.
If we added artest and Swift, that would put us at a next tier up for sure. Thats why i dont think nazr is anywhere ear the problem. If everyone was playing like nazr--we would be winning more games.

actually its kind of a scary thought where we would be without him!
Ill trade him for sure, but I want a HIGH value asset, without taing on salary, UNLESS its ron artest.

If they threw in John Salmons and even moneyed the deal out with scrubs, i would do it.

Nazr is surely not the problem, and it will not make any sense what so ever to move him. KG, TD, O'Neal, Shaq, I would probably move Nazr for one of those names, but that is about it. Nazr is playing as well as anyone right now, the PF position is where our probles is. If you remove Kurt out of that position for a game or two, you will see how smoothly our team will perform without him. Our two main problems are at the 3 and the 4. One of those positions has to be fix. Right now, one of the Thomases has to go.......

so let's see...the prevailing logic on this board seems to be:

"Let's hold onto our players until their trade values are low, then propose unrealistic trades using them to get young talents like Dalembert & Kwame. It makes no sense to trade guys when their values are high, because we would no longer be as mediocre as we are right now. That would be too scary a thought. Where would we be without our mediocrity?"

i'm not blaming nazr at all. i'm just saying that he's our best tradeable asset and he can be used in a deal to bring in a defensive center. and don't compare nazr #'s with kg, please. nazr is only moveable for a young center. i think kurt should be the first to go also but i don't think he can yield a bigman. we can trade kurt for a SF but not a good PF/C. so that's why i say trade nazr of one of the young centers. use kurt in a deal to acquire an SF or package him up with another chip (tim/penny's deals) in a sign and trade for a swift.

no scapegoating invovled at all. the team lost b/c they can't play defense. offense is not the problem. nazr's playing well but it's when guys are at their peak value is when you're supposed to trade them, especially if they're not a long term answer.

Trade whoever you want on this team but the trade has to help us win something in the next 2 years. Sam Dalembert and Kwame will not help us win anything. Trading for those guys will only slightly help us. Like Pike said, trade Nazr but trade him for the right guy.

I can;t speak for the board but I'll say where my prevailing logic is (warning - it's not all that logical) -

I'm not convinced that Dalembert, Kwame, Chandler, Curry, Heywood, whomever else we've discussed, are going to be better centers than Nazr. i understand the nothing risked-nothing gained approach. I also understand that some risks backfire on you. Therefore, I haven't been gungho about any of these trades becuase I'm not sold on any of these players. At the same time, i'm trusting Isiah and if he's ready to pull one of those triggers, okay, I'm not going to whine about it, I'm going to be intrigued and root like hell for the guy to develop for us. If IT doesn't trade, I'll stay rooting like hell for Nzar. I know that's wishy-washy, but i just don't have stronger feelings about any of these players over Nazr.

Killa! you are alright with me......

This talk really must stop. I guess using this popular logic of "points wiht no impact", KG's 47 and 13 were of no impact because they lost. Vince's 33 also had no impact because they lost. This is scapegoating at its finest. Nazr is not the reason we lost. Nazr is a big part of the reason we were in it in the first place. They only time big points and rebounds have no impacts is in a blowout loss. We were in this game up until the final seconds.

It is nothing short of unbelievable that on a night when KT had 4 points, and Nazr drops 22,11,2 blocks on 8 for 13 shooting Nazr gets the blame.

TT had 11 on 5 of 13 shooting. With the same 13 shots Nazr doubled TT's points by getting fouled and getting to the line going 6 for 7. That IS having an impact!!

We lost the game because we came out flat and played poor defense early and got into a big hole. Steph helped bring us back, but we lacked the firepower to keep the lead. We missed J. Craw last night and the night before. He could have been the difference maker for us. Nazr should keep doing what he is doing, and you all should be happy to have a top 10 center in the league(actually 6th on most power rankings). If we had just a decent post up PF like Maurice Taylor or Juwan Howard (both of whom have wilted under JVG and are available) and SF like Jim Jackson, we would be a better team.

Against the Nets KT had 6 points!!!
Last night KT had 4 points!!!

So you all trashing Nazr and blaming him for not having an impact, have no point.

As I've said before, of those mentioned, I only do it for Curry because I feel he's a truly gifted player. I also feel his time is here and if he got out of the miserable situation in Chicago and came to us... he'd blossom.

Mohammed's better than Dalembert and this is not likely to change... I also think those who feel Dalembert is full of potential are wrong.

I'm so sick about hearing about this guy!!

I wouldn't trade Nazr for Curry. Curry shows no good work ethic, and most all is looking for a big contract while he has yet to earn one since he has been in the league... Our team needs to learn to spend wisely. Nazr is producing and he is affordable, Curry may not be as good as Nazr is right now...but will cost us 7 years 70 million

I respect the opinion of concern involving his work ethic.

That being said, he currently (not potentially) has more talent in his pinkie, than Mohammed and the D word.

that's a little strong, Nazr has a lot of ability, especially on the offensive side. The D word is one dimensional... Curry is capable of doing it all. Would be the building block that so many of you talk about, when descibing the player needed to build a championship team.

Pike is right. Nazr is as good as those other guys. To trade him, you want to get a guy that can do it all.

As I said in another thread, NY has 1 superstar, 1 potential perenial ALL-star (craw) and 1 credible C. That is not enough.

The Kings have Bibby, Peja and CWebb. Miller is also there and he is pretty good as is Christie in their roles.

Miami like LA last year only has 2 stars. It may be enough as thoes 2 are so good. LAst year it wasn't.

Detroit has 3, but they are not playing it so far this year.

The Nets have 3. If they could get somethin decent at PF and C, they could be dangerous. Krstic is up and coming but not the D and rebounding they need. Collins is OK. Scalabrine is OK.

Here it is folks: all we need is one of those three things that I am about to mention right now: either a SF like Jimmy Jackson to replace TT, or a PF like Wilcox, or a Center like Curry to go to the next level. With a Center like Curry, we can at least move Nazr to the 4 and we wouldn't miss a beat from what he is currently offering with Marb at the Point.

TT or Kurt Thomas has to go. If we can trade the two of them, it will make things even better. At this point, I would like to see one of them traded. Kurt is the first that I want to see gone. He is having a good year and a lot of teams are hurting for what he can offer. TT's contract can earn us a pretty good player in return, so I want to keep him around for a little while longer.

Trade Penny and maybe and Sudov or Vinny since we are not using neither of those big men to N.O who has plenty of place to use them for Jimmy Jackson and P.J Brown.......we can make this work if we the two teams really want to. In my opinion, we can even trade for Mash's bad contract to make room for JJ at the 3. Penny and TT to N.O for Mash, JJ, and PJ B.

TT for JJ & Brown should be enough if they're looking to trade those guys. Don't think I'd be interested in taking on Mash's contract unless we were getting Baron or Magloire in the process.
