you know, I love steph as a player, but I said this before his attitude sucks at times, and yet you will see the side of steph where he calls Jamal crawford after the detroit game to give him moral support. Now I am dissapointed if these reports are true, but what is the difference of him doing that and Jason Kidd, publicly calling out his teamates, like KVH and his coach and basically getting byron scott fired? what is the difference? At least steph has the gonads to confront someone with how he feels, even if he is wrong, I mean Kidd backstabbed and moaned behind scotts back until he got fired? I mean scott led them to two NBA finals, so we know it wasn't like scott wasn't doing his job? But then again all I hear is how great of a leader kidd is..LOL..... that is a funny one...

I think Marbury respond just as you are suppose to. In a super competitive league like the NBA you have to think you are the absolute best at your position. If not you are already half way defeated. The inner voice has to be always telling you are the best and all the rest ain't ****. If you recall a few years ago Marbury was asked who would he rather have to start a team with, Stoudemire or KG. He said Stoudemire, why, because he was his teammate. IMHO this shows the same type of reasoning.

All that locker room drama didn't suprise me about Marbury, he can't do no wrong...he's home now dude can piss on the team mascot and not get fined for it.

I think Starbury also has played well at times this year and he definetly has his hands full tonight with Mike Bibby.

I think the game has passed Lenny by, but then again Malone is not one of his boys he hand picked so let Malone speak up for himself.

Dwayne Wade comments on Starbury;

"Everybody heard about it," Wade said before his razzle-dazzle, 21-point, nine-assist outing in last night's 102-94 victory over the Knicks. "Steph's a great point guard. But it's not left up to us players to say who's the best. It's up to the fans and [media)] to say who's the best." New York Post

He's only 22 and he gets it!

Of course, some of these guys don't get it.

be careful or TMS will tell you this is not the topic of the thread.

No Jesse the onluy time you are supposed to boast is when you are in a playoff series against the #1 seed and you tell a reporter you are the better team

Yes, Marbury's a great talent, but last we looked, Minnesota traded him and got better. The Nets trade him and got better. Phoenix traded him and got better. That's not a coincidence, it's a trend based on the eventual understanding that one guy cannot regard himself as more important than the team. The Knicks, whose boss should know this by now, should try sharing this lesson with his best player instead of indulging him.

It bothers me when people say that. Minnesota was going to be good anyway, the Nets didn't just add Kidd; they got Jefferson and Martin was injury free. Phoenix was horibble last year, and added Nash this year. Pheonix is the best arguement but they did make the playoffs with Marbury.

... don't forget Q Richardson... that's Q, Nash, Marion (who was already great without a supporting cast) and of course, the steal of a draft, Amare Stoudamire.

People said Nash was a fool leaving Dallas. Let me tell you, he knew exactly what he was doing.

Phoenix got a lot WORSE after Marbury left last year. They had an awful record without him last year. This year they're a completely different team with new players and a healthy Stoudemire. It's pointless to even compare this year's team to the team Marbury played on for the first third of last year.

I'm starting to agree with Marbury. He is a "loser". Always has been and always will be if he doesn't mature. That's pretty sad to say at his age. With Isiah the Enabler, there's no chance of Marbury growing up in NY. It's too bad Isiah will NEVER coach this team (who can he blame if he's the coach and GM?) because he's obviously the only person who has Marbury's ear.

Oh wait, we might win the sorry Atlantic with a sub .500 record so everything is going great.
If it didn’t work in Phoenix with Nash and Stoutamire... it’s just not a winning formula. It’s an entertaining formula, but not a winning one. - Derek Harper talking about D'Antoni's System
Marbury has a lot of growing up to do.
