Iverson is a notch above the rest.

Marbs, Baron, and Stevie, when all are healthy are very close in stature and ability.

Baron is limited by his back and chunky build. His upside is limited. Marbs is in his prime, and stevie has a new start. He is not as strong as Marbs, but has a good verticle and very quick!

I don't like Paul Pierce, so its a moot issue.

as far as Pierce goes, i rank him in a similar class in relation to other swingmen in the NBA as Marbury, Baron, Stevie, etc. are ranked among PG's in my view..i don't put him in the elite class of swingmen like Kobe or Lebron...i probably wouldn't trade Marbury for him only because PG is a more important position.

Pierce ranks w/guys like Shawn Marion, Peja Stoyakovic, Ron Artest...that level of player...i'd probably rather have Kirilenko over Pierce personally.

Actually, I would gladly take Pierce and Iverson over Marbury.

And I agree with the Metssuck. Yes, Iverson does take a ton of bad shots, but not once in his NBA career has he ever played with another scorer. The guy is the toughest player in the league and is all about nothing but winning. He is a leader and has adapted to his new PG role very well. And talk about leadership. When NOBODY else on team USA would speak, after they lost that game, he stepped up and became the spokesperson. I am sorry, but I would take Iverson over most people in the league.

As for Pierce, I think he has the same knocks that Marbury did. Doesn't share the rock (which I disagree with) and doesn't play defense (Which I partially disagree with). I am not gonna look into stats, b/c you know perfectly well that's not my game. But when I see Paul Pierce, I see a guy who's at the level of Kobe and T-Mac, and yes, Iverson. Guys like that are not exactly easy to come by. I would trade Marbury for very few players, but Pierce and Iverson are 2 of those few.
Then why did Marbury's team finish ahead of Pierce's last year and is ahead of them this year too? It's not like there's a huge difference in the team's supporting cast. A star point guard is just much more valuable than a star shooting guard. There's no way you can trade Marbury for Pierce.

Sorry if it bothers you. I just think Pierce is a better player. Marbury has a deeper team, but Pierce makes more of a commitment on defense.

I don't think it is automatic that Iverson is better. His Sixers made the Finals one time only, and they were pretty good teams. No second player is allowed to develop there because Iverson is the world's biggest ball hog. It seems he would rather score 50 and lose than score 18 and win. He does have immense heart though and is exciting to watch.
But he is selfish to the core.
We could be the Dallas Mavs of the East.

It doesn't bother me; you can think whatever you want. I was hoping for an explanation rather than an apology. Marbury might have a slightly deeper team but it's not a big difference. Pierce has a better backcourt starting teammate. A better starting SF and comparable or maybe slightly worse PFs and Cs. There's not a big difference in either player's supporting cast, yet Marbury's team's have been finishing ahead of Pierce's.
