And by the way Martin…….saying Dadiet is the fastest guy on the Knicks is like saying you’re the smartest guy on the short bus.

Why? His game is shooting, cutting, and transition play. Those are the basics that Mikal the player he is.

Basketball can be about that type of speed. Running efficiency is absolutely a core fundamental of basketball and a ton of other sports.

That level of thinking is the same line that never could believe that Brunson was a 1A type player. It’s why Dallas lost him, cause they looked at the athlete annd what he brought to the table incorrectly.

You don’t gauge Tyler Nickel on how well he breaks ankles or dunks, that’s stupid. Same for Dadiet, that’s not his potential game.

Josh Hart is an elite and explosive straight line runner. He doesn’t do too much ankle braking or left handed finishing.

You don’t gauge Tyler Nickel on how well he breaks ankles or dunks, that’s stupid. Same for Dadiet, that’s not his potential game.

Firstly, Tyler Nickel isn’t in the fourth year of his contract. Nickel is a second round pick who didn’t come into the league with high expectations. Nickel doesn’t even have a standard nba contract so I don’t know why you pick his as a comparison. Nickel also has an elite skill, you could even say a premium elite skill since 3pt shooting is a premium skill to have.

Brunson is another terrible comparison. Brunson and Dadiet are nothing alike. Brunson has an entire tool bag filled with elite skills. Dadiet hasn’t even proven he should get nba minutes in his 4th year in the league. I don’t think I’ll ever say ‘we couldn’t have won that championship if not for Dadiet’.

Dadiet is making somewhere around 4M for the illusion of untapped potential. You keep comparing him to Bridges but I don’t see that at all. I see Kevin Knox. 2.0 he has the body type of a 3&D wing but he can’t shoot, can’t dribble and isn’t any kind of a threat on offense at this stage of his nba career. And one more thing…. He can’t jump! If he is open cutting it’s because the defense isn’t really guarding him and they want the ball in his hands. Maybe he can cut as you say, he had a few nice cuts that last preseason game, but he can’t finish at the rim. I don’t see him in a Knicks uniform next year.

Josh Hart can finish at the rim. Again, I don’t see any similarity between these two players. Hart and Dadiet are nothing alike. Maybe Dadiet needs to get some dawg in him. He’s at the end of his nba lifeline. Who knows, maybe Dadiet will put up decent scoring numbers in the G League again this year.

Dadiet is 21 years old , Birthday is July. Not entering his 4th year. Just his 3rd.
Drafted 25th. Not very high. If not a 1st round pick he likely stays in europe. He was drafted as a prospect. Not ready to go.
Yes, high ceiling prospect.
I think the Bridges comp is body type. Long and lean. Dadiet used his leverage to gain the opportunity for the contract and the opportunity.
While its not going great, he is given a longer runway.

Nickel is a full two years older, played 3 years in college for three different schools. He can shoot and at 23 years old should have more polish as he has more game experience as well.

The comps for debate make for good fodder. Someone bought up Melo? That kid was the second to lebron coming out of high school and drafted 3 after a big exposure in the NCAA march madness tournament. The kid was ready!

Dadiet was physically a normal 18 year old when drafted and needs to keep getting stronger. Will he "Never be a baller"? Y
I hope your wrong and the Knicks find a gem. That or he grows to be a trade asset.
Best he serves the team in some capacity. Knicks took a risk. Maybe it pays off.
He and his agent played the cards right.

Melo? Melo??? Comparing to Dadiet??? Really? I don't want to go back and find out who brought up that comp but they should be exiled from this site. Melo had elite skills, Dadiet ,uh no.

fishmike 9/27/2024 11:00 PM Ug I hate this. The idea of Towns is great until you see what a pussy he is. Jules is a dog. DD was a flamethrower locked up cheap for 3 more years. First Leon move I hate

iT was mentioned that Melo was not super athletic but could break ones ankles with his handle. Contrast that to Dadiet who is breaking hearts.

Melo was an elite shot creator in the age where that was super important. It still is a valuable skill but now the league offense if faster paced with more fluid. Melo did the jab-step-boogie and it was very successful.

Perhaps there is a trade sooner than later were we move both Deuce and Dadiet for a dude we waive and two future 2nd round picks, or some low protected 1st round. Just and example.
If FO likes Bruce Brown, we'lll bring him. But Brown has not played will in a few years and finds himself outside without a gig. If he is the price to keep Dadiet a prospect, and there is a belief he could still pan out, then its a small price.

We know we can win a chip without Bruce Brown!

A lot has been said about Dadiet but the fact he is a knick, and French not matter anymore?

While it is always subject to change - IMO Dadiet is currently trending to not be on the roster next season......but that does not make a lot of what you posted accurate nor correct.

- Dadiet is going into the 3rd Year of his contract - not the 4th

- Tyler Nickel (23) is 2 years older than Dadiet (21)

- Jalen Brunson was 22 years old his rookie season (4 years older than Pacome) and came to the NBA with a significant collegiate Pedigree - even with that he was not the spectacular Brunson that we currently know over his first 2 seasons. This in no way means that Dadiet will be equal to Jalen - but what it does show is that some players get better with age and maturity through their prime.

- Regarding "Jumping" & physical ability - it's said that Men do not reach their physical peak until between 24 - 27 years old

Again - Dadiet has not yet shown that he will be a contributor of significance for the Knicks. This does not mean he never will - but as I said, he's currently trending towards perhaps a Euro career. That being said, if you are going to pile on the guy....at least be accurate.

I meant in dog years, but I forgot, he’s got no dawg in him thanks for catching that, I thought he was in his last year of the rookie deal. I can’t say I feel better about having two years of Dadiet with our cap situation. Good thing it’s a team option year for 5,373,608. I’m not going to say he has doesn’t have a chance of getting that option picked up…but it isn’t looking good.

PS I think Alpha peaked at 14

I peaked at 14 intellectually.
