If the Mavs match, another option for at least a 2 way is this guy. He’s on the Mavs SL team and apparently has history with the new Mavs GM. But he’s a UFA right now and is a really interesting player

I read a rumor that this may be a part of the draft night trade. How true that is IDK.

If the Mavs match they have to eat a contract to keep him. It's not as simple as just matching offers.

BlueKnickers wrote:Cisse did sign with us so I'm assuming he believes the path to playing time is better in NY than with the Mavs. He will be in the rotation next season. Drummond is cooked unless he hits the gym hard and loses weight. Hopefully the mavericks don’t match. We will know Tuesday morning |

Raw numbers and tape look great. Really good low-risk upside play.

It was too “matchable” of a deal for the Mavs. The interesting twist is that this is now a deal they can waive without a problem, but they might want to hold on to him. We can’t trade for him and now he has a no-trade clause. We’ll see what happens and what’s the next step for Leon.

Agreed, there’s something off about this offer that was an easy match for the mavs … especially with the second year non guaranteed. It’s essentially the minimum you can offer that guy…. Does this deal now pigeon hole the Mavs into making a decision on one of their other bigs? |

Not sure who else we might be trying to trade for but it feels like we’re running out of options. I’d sign these two guys to exhibit 10 contracts right now and let them compete with Trey Jemison for the 3rd big roster spot and a 2 way spot. This guy Sharp is 7’5” and Kao has a build similar to Cisse but with an insane 45” vertical. Both struggle offensively but so does Cisse and Mitch

Surprised Mavs matched so quickly. Fully expected them to wait until the 11th hour and keep us frozen on next steps.
