IMO, trading for Brown would have been a lateral move for the BUCKS and the 2 FRP would have been in the high 20s. The Heat package makes much more sense for them.

It’s interesting. In my head, they’d have had some ability to flip Brown to Portland for some of their picks back and better youth players. I assume Portland shut that down. Brown is kind of the piece Portland could use. Even if it wasn’t locked in at the time of trade, I’d have taken Brown over the hodge podge of talent Milwaukee accepted from Miami. I’m giving Milwaukee a D- on this one.

You know I gonna spin wit it

Miami was supposedly one of the teams Giannis was willing to sign an extension with. But, if they can’t put a team around him that can win - does he?

I guess we’ll see what Brown fetches on the open market. It’s not like they got premier pick package from Miami either. They got #13 and then a few in the 2030s.

Career low %'s across the board, and more annoying was the non stop barreling into defenders and complaining/whining to refs while laying on the ground and watching the other team go 5 on 4.

I wanted KAT gone, didn't think he'd change and didn't think you could win with a guy like that.

Now here we are, KAT did a 180 and became an efficient offensive hub and one of our best defenders which I still can't get over. DDV is out for the year, and MIN attaches a 1st to unload Randle. Even though he signed a "team friendly" contract.

Unreal... Randle never had much value around the league even in his prime with us, his playstyle always made him a very difficult fit.

All the trades we made turned out to be huge wins, and even if you want to call the MIkal trade an overpay, it got us a chip and was offset by getting everyone else on the cheap.

Even the whole Grimes thing, I liked him and he turned into a solid 3 & D guy, but he wants big money and he's just an absolute cluster**** under pressure in the playoffs, the game never slowed down for him, he's still going at 110% all the time and not reading situations.

Leon made the right call on so many guys, because we had to let alot of good young talent go, but does anyone want to be paying RJ, IQ, Grimes & Obi $100m per year right now? You can't win like that.

Pressure creates diamonds

It seems KAT needed to come face to face with the demands of being a contender in NYC to break through the mental blocks that were hampering him earlier in the season.

KAT validated the organization's faith in him and now he can continue to refine his game

The Giannis comparisons were banished and his spirit got cleansed in the baptism of championship locker room champagne

I honestly could care less about Giannis going to the cHeat.

He's going to need his therapy cat to purr him through this

I'm with you. Especially when you don't own any of your own draft picks. Word is ownership felt Brown was too good to want to stick around. Kind of funny when you realize the same thought process didn't apply to Herro.

Giannis to Miami. Less worried about him there than Boston!

Agreed. Kind of feel bad for Giannis

Agree, several other teams would have been much tougher to beat if they got him.
With that said, Bam and Greek will be a tough matchup for many.
I am also sure Riley is not done.
Really thought the Thunder would be in on the Giannis sweepstakes as well. They have so many picks.

OKC is in a weird spot where Jaylin Williams signed that huge contract and was then injured all year. I thought he would have been a great trade for Giannis- OKC gets to more or less copy the Bucks blueprint with better guys around Giannis- Holmgren/ Lopez, SGA/ Middleton, Wallace/ Jrue. I guess OKC is banking that Jay Will in the lineup solves all their problems vs SA.

lets see how the off season pans out for the heat before we start doing letter grades.
Herro used to grate my nerves but the kid matured and really performed quite well.
Personally I was on the fence about the haul that Bucks got but given the circumnstances I thought they did ok.
They got an Allstar, some role players, a prospect, and somenice picks. I can't imagine him not resigning but also can't see a path where they are not a big top heavy with him and BAM and little else.
Giannis was correct in wanting to be a Knick and perhaps KAT was a bit miffed as he was dangled. Lets not get too enamored with Giannis as the purest nice guy. He got some "Lebron" vibe to him and behind the scenes was pulling a lot of strings. He took good care of his brothers and Bucks did cater to his every whim.
Maybe he does not get to a contender but a tax friendly state and can reside on the beach if he so desires.
Last two seasons he played 67 and then just 36 games. How much was orchestrated by a desire to be traded? Can he return to play 70 games?
He and BAM are a gonna be a problem for teams and be fun to watch. Will it be fun to coach for Spo? Is Riley doing the "Im old but relevent!" thing or is this a solid move?

Heat has the most dominant frontcourt in the league now. It's going to be a problem even for us. One is our strengths is offensive rebounding. Heat is an Eastern Conference Finals team now. Giannis is loose now. They are the team to beat now for us in the East.

I get the thinking but I think their fit is clunky. Too much overlap on offense and defense IMO.

Miami needed a star to put next to Trevor Keels

(i.e. I'm not worried yet; they still have the rest of the team to build)

I don't like to talk **** about Miami becuase they suck when you think they good, and visa versa.
Riley tenure is rather long and includes some blunders.
This is a starphuch move. Its bold as hell and it could work. Like I said, lets see how the roster rounds out as I don't see this as a very good move. Freak starts losing his athleticism, you know the very thing that makes him "the freak", then its a bad contract.

Giannis and Bam will alternate games scoring 60 points while the other one scores 10 points.

As a result, they'll both average 35 PPG while going 30-52 for the season.
