I'm not that thrilled, he was an easy target for us on offense. Maxey also defers to him, Maxey will play free with nothing to lose now. On the flip side, they have such little depth already, we should be able to just overpower them.

Pressure shifted to Mikal and OG now. Keep Maxey and PG under wraps. But this frees up KAT and Mitch exponentially.

Philly has a higher ceiling with Embiid, but they aren’t necessarily any less dangerous tonight without him. It’s the Maxey show now. They will run on offense and be better defensively.

The point of sitting Embid is to allow Maxey/Edgecombe free reign with the ball and make it a Charles Manson Helter/Skelter affair so YES I agree with you.

Philly gets better on D though this could lead to more Kat elbow, Jalen off ball and we see maybe OG.Mikal back-cuts dunks.

Going to come down to how smart and relentless we play on D and as always will refs give us a fair whistle as opposed to Philly shooting 2X the free throws in a 37 point loss. I'd like to see how often that has happened over the entire history of the league.

I agree w this. That said our game plan last time seemed to be take Maxwell out of the game w denial, blitzes and double teams. I have to imagine that’s easier now. They’ll have to play Drummond and bona and can’t go small against our bigs so it will be that much easier to do same this game

Duncan is such a horrible defender but they don’t want him giving freebie fouls against the cavs. So on drives he’s not even being asked to track his man so much as stand still w his arms up (ie note not even on shot attempts) so refs can see his hands and see he’s not grabbing or pushing. He’s essentially a mildly moving obstacle ostensibly to slow his mans just enough for someone to rotate and help. Kind of hysterical
