I was pretty much indifferent, but I couldn't help but root for Philly to win last night, so maybe something deep down said they were the preferred matchup. First 2 games at MSG is probably a major reason why.

I honestly don't think "it's not even close" in terms of talent though. They have more talent than Boston does and IMO it showed in this series. Maxey - Edgecomb - George - Embiid can stack up with any starting unit in terms of talent. They aren't very deep, and we should be able to light up Embiid in PnR unless they can successfully hide him on Hart. I like our chances, but they are not going to be easy.

I usually have some ideas, but I’m not sure how we can beat them or matchup on them. Unless mikal comes to play then that helps, at least on defense. Who’s guarding their top 4?

Maxey
Edge
PG
Cripple Man

Or a better question is who’s guarding us?

JB
OG
Towns
Mikal
Hart
Mitch

Hart is my X factor for this series. Whoever is guarding him he has to exploit that.

Probably still a 6 game series. Philly is not the typical 7th seed they are a good team. Yes the Celtics choked but the Sixers played well. Just glad I don’t have to watch Marky Mark, Dave Portnoy and 18,000 drunken M@ssholes game 1 on the road. Let them enjoy the Red Sox.

I like Bridges on Maxey and OG on Edgecombe. I'm not too concerned with them being as effective as they were in that BOS series

I can take Marky Mark and the M*******s. I cannot stand Portnoy though and would delight in that man's demise.

I'm not concerned about either team...but I am concerned that Embiid will intentionally injure someone and F up our push to the Finals. I'm hoping we add Tonya Harding to Nancy Kerrigan his ass before that happens.

Hahaha . Dude if Joel injures one of our guys he better hire an entourage of X military Marines… have you seen our fans on the street after games lol they will put a hit out on Joel if he pulls that bs.

YOu mean the stoned Bing Bongers?

I agree with the sentiment this is not your typical 7th seed nor was Boston a proper 2. Mazzula did a hell of a job!

Game last night was weird. Game was close down the stretch but they kept going to Embiid and George until Maxey said "Fuck that" and put the game away.

Boston could not buy a bucket in the last few minutes. Granted, its the playoffs and you go to your guys but they just had Brown to close. have to credit PHilly defense some?

There in my opinion are two types of "Dirty" Embiid; One is the entitled bitch MVP grabbing like he did vs. Mitch a few years ago. Not sure how frequent that is but its ugly. Then there is the big strong dude who can't move his feet and thus his swipes just be all over the place. To me its not with malice but just bad play. Perhaps that is why he does not get suspeneded or get thrown out? They are "Flagrant 1's" and he gets the benefit of the doubt too often.

Fucker is like a horror movie villian. Dude gets knocked down, grabs his knee. Then like last night he hits the clutch and perhaps game sealing 3 pt shot before Maxey starts his dance.

Nobody can really defend him.

How we will play Sixers? I guess Josh on him, and OG plays Embiid. Then Mitch. Key is to not get into foul trouble. Embiid is a foul magnet. We can use KAT also and I trust he'll move his feet.

YOu let Embiid get his and early. Do the rope a dope, he'll get tired. I also go after him on defense and make him work. PG13? Also OG and Mikal can take care of him.

The back court? That concerns me. Brunson will be exposed some. Edgecomb and Maxey are not easy to guard. I'd like to see Shamet get going on offense so he can defend also. He and Deuce are very important here. They get going its lights out.

"Treachery in the lower seeds" is playing out and this "upset" should hardley be a suprise. Boston played very well to get its 2nd seed and Sixers with just 71 games played between PG13 and Embiid, again both HOF players are not typical 7th seed!

If healthy sixers can take it all the way to the finals. I doubt that can happen. But they could take us. I agree with Philc and think knicks in 6 reasonable.

Getting Embiid to switch out on Brunson or anyone should be on the gameplan. 2 years ago we had IHart (not that effective) and Mitch so having KAT as a deep threat should make things more challenging on Embiid defensively. What I don't know yet is if the Sixers are better with or without Embiid as I have seen a few games where they play without him and look much more challenging with their speed/game pace.

Ok.

I’m assuming we stay KAT-Centric on offense. Embiid has the length to disrupt KAT’s straight passes in a way Okongwu couldn’t. So assume a little tougher passes to be made.

Maxey and Edgecomb are probably the two most athletic players on the court. Oubre is no slouch. I’ve got Bridges on Maxey, Hart on Edge, Brunson on Oubre, OG on PG3 and KAT on Embiid. Their length won’t be easy for us on either side of the floor.

Once we get to the bench, I think we have a larger advantage. I’d potentially start Mitch on Embiid and shift the size advantage back to us in the paint.

I’d guess our skill wins out. But I don’t expect a cakewalk.

You know I gonna spin wit it

KAT will make Ebiid look like a pig stuck in mud if he tries to guard him at the 3point line.

He will go right past him. If he drops back, his range could be a factor. PG13 is their power forward?
Did Vooch even play yesterday day? He. injured or just sucked?

Philly got any "Paul Reed's" we need to know about?
Still need to respect Drummonds rebounding.

So many matchups and strategies.

Hunting Embid seems to be the ideal one. I can see Embid switched on JB in pick and rolls. But with the success of smalls on Towns, they have Ombré and wings to guard towns.

If they put Embid on hart, that’s why I say Hart is the key in this series. Hart is the only one Embid can guard in half court.

The more I think about it the more advantages I see for Knicks.

Who’s keeping Mitch off the glass?

Mitch and Hart can turn this series around quick, if they on their game.

OG has taken the Embiid assignment for stretches of games in the past

If Alvarado can disrupt Maxey even a little bit, he has a chance to really shine during this series. I wonder if we feature him more in 2 guard lineups with Brunson to try and shadow Maxey some.

I like that move. Forgot about GTA. Him and deuce. Maxey averages 40 mins a game so they will get their chances.

OG and Mitch might be our best Embid defenders on the team. Towns seems to be a 2way player in this series as well. But I agree.

I personally want to see Mitch on him, for some get back.

If I’m Dolan I would demand a drug test on Embiid. I would bet he will be loaded with all kinds of illegal performance enhancement drugs just to get ready for this series.

I'd test him for traces of human DNA to rule out the possibility he's a visitor from the Asshole Galaxy
