Knicks got my memos

They will have to keep KAT engaged to be competitive and you do that by getting him touches early and often

Also saw a few more instances of postup range plays which give a guy as big as KAT a huge advantage

This season will ride or die with how well KAT plays so the last two games were big improvements in that direction

I still have my doubts that KAT can avoid bad fouls and play good enough defense to make it to the Finals, but the only choice is to optimize him and hope everyone else does their part

Bulls suck. The draged us down to their level.
United Center is a first rate building. Great sound system.
Fucking cold here this weekend.
Lots of knick fans, but not very vocal.
Knicks ere tired. They got it done. Twas never in doubt.
KAT was the man tonite. OG was demonic on defense.
No revolations about the team seeing them in person. Not tonite.

If you attend every game the rest of the season we have a shot at going undefeated the rest of the way

Kat defends like Edward Scissorhands - disregarding +75 years of coaches yelling don't reach.

For a while there it was looking like the Yabu revenge game and another disappointing loss against an inferior team but the defense, KAT and Mikal saved us! Held another team to under 100 points and 40% shooting. The three point defense and close out's also got better as the game went on. So good to see KAT put together some strong games in a row. You can see he's being more assertive and aggressive and kudos to Brown and the Cap for finding him. He's just too good and too talented to be ignored on offense! His defense has also picked up and he's not committing those silly fouls either. And hats off to Shamet! Another big game off the bench with 14 points and 4 threes! Nice alley oop from GTA5 to Huk too!

Towns seems like he is more careful on his drives( used to hook that arm every other time)He doesn't fall down every time, which is great to see. On D he is better too. Now he is shooting with more confidence from 3 land. Maybe those things are connected.

my sentiments too. The other thing I'd note is KAT is an excellent and willing passer so the reluctance to run through him more is all the more frustrating

It was around 5:58 in the 1st Q, Bridges got bumped under the basket on defense and just layed there like he was waiting for them to bring the stretcher out. Even after the whistle is just lying there which started me thinking ‘I cant remember seeing Bridges on the floor before’. I keep struggling to find anything I like about this guy

I will remind you, and I am not going to jest. He is a two way player at his position. He is available, always. He has made more corner 3's than any other player in the league. He is a triple threat at the 3 point line. Good finisher inside, if he catches a pass and finishes. Elite in the midrange, perhaps not as good as Brunson, but not that much worse. Those are the positives, there is other stuff too like avoiding contact. But I am just listing things I like.

I agree that he is elite from the corner. The rest of it I think he is overrated. The reason he takes so many midrange shots is because he pulls up when he sees a help defender often times resulting in a forced pass and turnover. He is definitely not someone who is going to dive for a loose ball. I’m not sure we can win with him in the SL. Hopefully him spending more time on the bench in the 4th Q will light a fire

I agree with this 100%, I think when people get frustrated with Mikal they are comparing his bad play to his good play, not to "normal" play around the rest of the league.

And keep front and center last year's Celts series. He fought like hell and showed up big when we needed him most; many, many players would wilt on Brown and Tatum w the game on the line

The Bridges experience is annoying but I actually appreciate his game. His willingness to take a back seat is actually critical to have on a good team although it's annoying when he stays in the backseat when you need him up front. But he's a former 20ppg guy willing to tone his game down to role player level. He's an ace corner 3 guy, good transition player, elite off ball defender, high IQ player. He's a player every good team would want. You just have to ignore what we gave up for him which at this stage isn't relevant.

I saw somewhere he is first or second on the team in a whole slew of advanced impact stats.

Absolutely. Championships are built with two way players. He is a major piece of the puzzle. Can you imagine what would happen if he was to cut to the hoop every time Towns has the ball up high? Even if half of those result in points or fouls drawn our offense would go up by like 10 points per game putting us in historic territory. Yes, he might get hurt and ruin his streak. But that's the sacrifice Mikal could( should) take to bring us closer to the promised land.

OG isn't the one to do this, he is slower, more methodical. A power player. Bridges is finesse and that's his role.
