I don't think it's plausible that someone like Ginannis would purposely make it difficult for the Bucks. What would you expect him to do? Tank? I just dont see that in his personality and competitiveness.

As I indicated previously, my sense is the end of Giannis will be a process and one that about everyone saw comming the last few years. The Freak is a good dude and guards his persona well. Its perfectly logical that as a business decision both sides ease into it for many reasons.
Nalod almost always can't wrap my head around player trade value. That or I miss on public sentiment on them. Take Doncic for example to the lakers. While some think conspiracy others don't look down the road or the immeadiate effect of what Dallas was doing. In my opinion, it was a win now move for Dallas and thinking Luka would not hold up to build around. Lakers want a star to shine in the eventual Lebron retirement. The Clippers are not the Sterling run **** show. Lakers have competition.

Bucks have a nice fan base in a blue collar city. Moving Giannis to NY or LA would be a slap in the face to the fan. Getting a star in return is always preferable but not likely. The Dame thing? Good idea actually, but it failed to execute. I admire the effort. Giannis is paid $54mil and is responsible to his role. It seems they are working it thru to an eventual divorce but laying the groundwork for a smooth transition.

Something like:
KAT, all of our Knicks picks, and 2 distinct, unprotected picks from the kings along with the expiring salary (in a year) of LaVine to the bucks
Giannis, Turner and Kuzma to the Knicks
OG and Deuce to the kings
A 4th team to use for addition salary dump from the Knicks (Dadiet, kolek etc)

Knicks would be left with:

C Turner/ Robinson
PF Giannis/ Yabusele
SF Hart/ Kuzma
SG Bridges/ Clarkson
PG Brunson/ Brogdon

As a rotation. Something along those lines for 2026/2027

It could always become a Kawhi to Toronto situation, but likely these things end with the player getting to the team he wants. With this leak, the fact the Knicks were the only team involved is a great sign. Why would Giannis give the Bucks a list of teams when there’s a path to sign with his top choice in less than 2 years ?

Someone else suggested this: he wants Bucks to use all of the rest of their current resources to upgrade the current roster, for him and team. Plausible too.

They have already done that though right ? They already have lost control of all of their picks for the next 6-7 years. And their last big maneuver was the Lillard- Turner thing.

In between, they also got 2 years of first round exits cause Dame and Giannis got injured in alternating years.

Not a good return I think.

Oh, they also get the pleasure of taking a $22M cap hit over the next 4 years, so that’s like paying but not having a Josh Hart level guy on the roster
