Double big was NOT one of our best NET lineups. Double big against this Indiana team was not even on paper what made the most sense. We made a move for sake of making a move, and didn't go with our highest +/- guy or best POA defender in Deuce.

And they play fast and run. If we go double bog our offense needs to be efficient. That’s not Thibs specifically. With deuce you still increased your defense and you added a 3pt shooter to help space the floor for towns and JB.

Still need deuce to come off the bench. It limits Brunson minutes on the floor with KAT. Having Mitch start mitigates the defensive issues with having both Brunson and KAT together at the same time.

Mitch only got 19 minutes in game 4. He was effective I don’t care if the +/- maybe says otherwise he helps. Supposedly he’s on a minutes limit due to concerns over his conditioning.

Precious being unplayable since mid season is an under the radar story. Didn’t step up after iHart left.

Right now, I would put Mitch on Siakam so I can move OG to Haliburton. KAT on Turner. Bridges on Nesmith and JB on Nembhard to start the game

Sprinkle in zone defense to get them off kilter

I don’t think double bigs was ever the move. Thibs won’t do something like start Wright for Haliburton defense but that is the move I’d make and keep the bench weapons on the bench. Might as well just revert back to the starters at this point and hope for a game 6 Boston performance.

Very disappointing. Contract year too

Precious never seemed to understand what he was actually capable of offensively. If you play to your strengths and within your limitations, then you can work around that. When you come into a game and we have no idea if you're gonna shoot 3s, attempt drives and spin moves from multiple places on the court, etc...then how can you trust a guy when he comes in?

When Precious started last year he played mainly as an offensive rebounder and a finisher, and while his lack of shooting threat was limiting, at least you knew what role he was playing out there.

Don't disagree here. Double big mid game is something that can help you dominate a spurt for rebounding, but as a starting lineup creates too many weaknesses for the Pacers to scheme against. We are too slow with this lineup.

I don't think size is something we need to worry about against the Pacers when they are often playing 2 PGs - 2 of Hali/Nembhard/TJ are often on the floor. Why wouldn't be afraid to play Deuce or Delon with Brunson if this is the case? If Nembhard is gonna beat you scoring the basketball you tip your cap and go to Cancun.

The Precious we saw in the second half of the season, might be the Precious that got him traded. Still think he should have gotten more of a chance to earn playoff minutes. Sometimes Thibs goes overboard with the doghouse.

Unacceptable. His play staying level or getting a bit better would have been a game changer.

He said he was a great defender. Maybe it’s Thibs but I thought he was the center whisperer and defense guru.

Question: would Sims have had value as another big of the bench with Mitch starting, or was that trade for Delon another unsung coup by the FO?

Huk surpassed Jericho before the trade (unfortunate timing on his injury). I expect he'll have a bigger role next year. Trading Jericho was just to do him a solid IMO. Don't think there was expectation for Delon to contribute much, but everything he's given has been welcome!

Let's get a tremendous game from a bench player tonight. Let Wright Deuce Precious or Shamet just have a career night and carry us to victory. Other teams always seem to have a player, outside their starts kill us. Let's get to game 7 and beat them down.

Thibs doesn’t trust anyone. Hakaporti actually brings some fire and toughness — he probably should’ve gotten some spot minutes. If we can’t get Precious off the bench to guard Obi, Bryant, and a guy we’ve never heard of, that’s a real issue.

And with Siakam torching everyone, it wouldn’t hurt to give him a different look and try to make him uncomfortable.

Also: would be nice to get Mitch a few more lob touches.
