New York Basketball noted that Kolek is the first Knick in at least the last 42 seasons to have 17 assists and no turnovers in a two-game span DLeethal wrote:

I have nothing against Tyler. Hope he turns out great. He's not great now, not even close. Just points out that the minute police crying about the underutilized bench dont know what they are talking about, because these guys are not good players. We have enough to get past the first round, but unless McBride and Mitch take some super serum and play like healthy young men the supporting cast after the starting 5 needs a LOT of work. I think we did a good job turning IQ/RJ/DD/Jules into KAT/OG but we are literally short 2 guys. "winning is more fun... then fun is fun" -Thibs
