Then reading the Daily News and Post sports sections and I was hooked. I remember listening to Knicks games on the radio at night too when they weren't on TV and I can't remember the broadcaster but he was great. Anyone recall the broadcasting teams on TV and radio back in those days ? Thanks Todd, my favorite was Butch Beard. He was only there one season so that was the season I became a fan. |

![]() Papabear Says
I became a knicks fan (Richie Guerin, Kenny Sears) around 1958 when I was going to PS14. In 1959 we won a city title that's when some of the coaches from Saint Anthony's tried to recruit me but I chose to go to Lincoln High in Jersey City and I played the point and shooting guard. We had a big game one night and I had to choose between playing basketball or singing with my singing group at an armature contest at the theater and guess which one I choose. Papabear
