Thats 24mil over 4 years. That might be tame but it will matter.

Counter argument is that endorsement opportunities in NY may be able to offset some of that difference - granted when we're talking mid tier players, remains to be seen what opportunities are actually there.

But yes, I agree, nothing to scoff at.

I'm wondering what the difference is with a opt out so we can go full bird rights. The big thing to staying is he has a role that he excels at.

I would trade Deuce if we could keep Mitch and iHart. Deuce’s game took a big jump last season. Not enough for me to see the FO pass on having the center position locked down with two quality bigs.

Who knows what will happen with KP healthwise, but that matchup is more important than keeping Deuce, if that’s the choice. And if we got to the Finals, there is Jokic to worry about. The more quality centers we can throw at him the better.

Longtime no see. Honestly, bleeping Deuce has no real impact on whether they keep iHart or not. It impacts cap and tax payments, but the real issue is that the Knicks are capped at what they can offer iHart. Doesn't matter if they flip Burks or the other rookies instead or trade Mitch.

Makes sense. I was responding to the OP favoring Deuce over iHart. This post in another thread I thought was interesting..

Would this be enough to entice iHart to stay? Thats a lot of $$$ when you add it all up as a couple. Smart move by MSG if this is legit.

^^ Unfortunately I think good ol' Clem is just joking about the modeling contract. Would be worth it though!

Counter to the counter argument: you don’t need to be in NYC anymore to attract big sponsorship deals. Just look the NIL deals in the NCAA. A phone and an internet connection is all you need

I think someone like Mitch Robinson could play in Oklahoma since he wants to chill out with dogs and trucks, but I can't see Hartenstiein loving it. Its a lot of money but if they only want to give him 2 yrs maybe he bets on himself on a shorter term deal in NY and looks at FA again at age 28.

Outside of raw $$$ there is legit nothing else the Knicks haven't given iHart since he has joined the Knicks. The biggest thing: They gave him a chance and helped him thrive in it and it looks like they'd like to do the same and more. I wouldn't be able to ask for more.

To me it'll be a very strange decision if he isn't a Knicks player. But I'd also understand it completely.

So now OKC is also interested in Lauri Markkanan? If this is true the iHart deal could be on hold while they negotiate with Ainge

I have said this many times: his wife is from Texas. similar regional...... Hot, oil culture, and close to Text. They have a baby on the way or have had it already. For all I know she hates her family and be glad to not be anywhere near. I can' speak for what he like to do or not in westchester/NYC but he does have enough money to bring family in to help with the baby and fly where he wants to. Whats in Eugene that he camping out there for? Track and Field olympic trials? Nike? Most likely family. They having the baby there?

I suppose we'll find out soon enough.

Lord knows they have enough trade capital to pull it off. They have to resign Lauri.
They want a long term deal with him? Be interesting, two 7footers with very good range! some mad science they would be trying.

Lauri also has Spurs interest.
Isiah Joe and Forward Aaron Wiggins signed with OKC. Can't speak to implications.
Jalen smith to Bulls.

Knicks are not sleeping, this FO don't sleep, but what they really cooking?
They need to finish the Bridges trade first?

iHart grew up / was born in Oregon and his dad played bball at University of Oregon. Believe the family lives there.

Ultra hypothetical - would you add Deuce to this trade if they sent you back Day Ron Sharpe?

BTW my answer to that hypothetical is no, but a way to extract Sharpe in this deal would be useful. I think Deuce is too valuable to give up in this case.
