It cost 2 mm$?

I’m concerned he goes to the heat or nets and comes into his own as well

He averaged 9 and 6 in 21 minutes per game last season but you’d think we weee talking about Freddy Weis

Bam type? A center? You look at the build on Bol? Bam is a strong athletic specimen of man. Bol is awkward and not built for the game. Similar to his dad but to his credit has worked very hard to make it.
Lets just stop with the wishful labels and Hype. Some of y’all had him very high on the lottery and he fell for a reason. True, he was ACL after half a seaosn in college. Why? Can’t teach or train to gain height!
Shoots better than his numbers? If you watch highlight videos he does.
He is a 4. Not a 5. He blocks shots becuase he is tall. Mitch and other would eat him up.
Take a flyer on him? Whats is his defensive acumen? How does he switch? Read things? Pass? You know, the other **** that taskmaster Thibs likes in his players. I assume he puts in the work but his physical make up is not very fluid and

Magic ate 2.2mil and waived him. Flat out release with a year left on his deal. Was that as a favor so he could find time elsewhere? Or does he have an chronic injury thing going on? Could not find a trade? Nothing to take him off their hands?
Before I go off making fables about his upside, ask “What dont’ I know”?

I am being a Pinoy homer here but one player I want our Knicks to seriously look at is Kai Sotto. He is playing for the Magic SL team. He has all the skills that Jokic has. He has the bball IQ. His problem is that he is not very fast and he is not that strong. But he is 7'2" with a 7'5" wingspan. He can shoot from the outside. He can rebound. He can block shots. Get him an NBA strength and weight program and this kid will surprise. I think he can backup the PF spot.

No one claimed Bol Bol for the $2.7M on his contract. Let the bidding begin!

I have no issue with him competing for the back up 4th spot if he is down with that.
Is that a no guarantee type thing?
He is 23 but has not played much. Missed a big chunk of his one year at Oregon and then just 53 games prior to last year.

i'm telling you there's an untold story here.

too talented and then slid in draft, to later be dumped by two teams.

It's just hard to envision a functional role for him. NBA coaches as whole aren't really that creative. And as talented as Bol is, he's not really worth creating an entire ecosystem that caters to him.

My guess for years was his physiology. Watch him run.
His bones are too long.
I reiterate I have been saying this since his days at Oregon.
And, its just a guess. I think he made it this far is remarkable.
He worked hard on his fundamentals but he does not move like Holmdgren, Wemby, and KP.
I hope i'm wrong. Just guessing.
But your right, there is something about.
He slid in the draft in part because he had an ACL tear.
I don't recall who had him as a high lottery pick other than Briggs. Was it any of the ESPN mocks?
Not calling anyone out here, just wondering if the hype was by respectable pundits or others.

For a while early in his career and perhaps late in college, he had foot problems. Maybe they are there or maybe it's cause he is bad at team basketball.

Well, your best bet is to put him on a team with similar players. So... San Antonio and the Celtics (KP) might be the most ideal matches - he'd be roughly interchangeable with Wemby and KP. Another potential spot might be Minnesota an a KAT understudy, though they already have most of their minutes committed to Gobert, KAT, and Kyle Anderson.

Maybe his age is in question - they thought his dad was like 46 when he played for the Warriors...
