No way iq can stay a back up. We get two athletic foundational players
IQ, by himself, isn't gonna get you those picks. You need throw in Obi, at the very least, and more picks.
Why would anyone trade a #4 pick for a couple of bench players on a non-top team?
Seems like there are still a few grown ups here who believe that Santa is real.
Knicks were 13-8 last year with IQ starting. He averaged 22.6/5.4/5.1 pts/rebs/ast and was among league leaders in defense. Why the phuck would anyone want a young guy like that?Santa aint coming to Houston... we keeping IQ
That’s y I started this thread fishnike. Q isn’t a bench player anymore— he’s a high caliber starting lead guard. The problem with that? We already have 1
BUT compensation for iq must be high or I’ll happily accept what is. In other words I do not seek a trade unless someone can give me value commensurate. Two draft picks 1 being a lottery pick is the only way.
I dont have a problem with your idea. Not sure that would be my player. Also I think the timing has changed. We have a star end of game finisher in Brunson. We need more high end supporting guys not prospects. I get you on the value, but not on the team building direction.
Except maybe Jaren Jackson. Yeah the one on Memphis. He could be our Bam for next 15 years with Brunson closing. Why in god's name would Memphis trade him? Because sending them Randle/IQ allows them to either pivot away from Jah with some tact and still have a hell of a squad.
It sets the Knicks back in terms of how the roster is constructed but that's super temporary. You are basically building around Brunson/Jackson/Grimes/RJ still have Mitch/McBride/IHart/Josh and even Fournier who suddenly might help lol
Fantasy aside I think there's no reason IQ cant sign a big contract and play the Bobby Jackson role for next 5 years for us. Maybe he doesnt start but he's a 30+ MPG guy and always there in crunch time. He literally does everything. He scores, he finds guys, he hits the glass, he's a excellent defender, he's 24 next year. Just keep him man.
