With Anmare and the yoot it was a good start. Melo jab step boogie slowed it down. Great coach, wrong roster.
He had Felton as his PG.
He did magic with Lin though. Linsanity was awesome but he was fragile and could not hold up. Both Harden and Nash were allstar talents no doubt. MDA took them to MVP’s.

Knicks did not have the right talent for MDA.
Rambis was interim and triangle centric. He was doomed to fail.

Outside of Rambis and some others, guys like Chaney, Wilkens, Brown, even Isiah all had success else where but not here. Thus, there are “worst coaches” or “Worst performances buy a coach”. This is why I exclude Larry Brown as “worst coach”, but for sure his performance here was awful.

Issiah created that mess and was doomed to lie in it.

Fizdale seemed the most flat-out incapable.

Rambis was probably the one I was most eager to get rid of...

Brown was old and tired by the time he got here. He was 65. The regular season road schedule in the nba is too much of a grind. He did coach three more seasons in charlotte 2 of the 3 were bad one was decent

He actually had Eddy and Jackie (blue) Butler playing well in spurts.
On more time for context, knicks had a lot of depth but larry could not find his linups.
The “Start at home thing”. Was not from what I recall a whole season long thing. He was grasping for anything that would work. Larry also did not care if players were out of shape, etc, He berated those not as unprofessional.
Larry was never a warm and fuzzy likable dude. Ever.

Rambis has rings as a player and assistant coach and been around the game and respected for years. His coaching stint in Minny was flawed for many reasons including him trying to install the Triangle with a flawed roster to do it.
He took over a bad team here as interim. Rare a team flounding gets turned around by an interim bench coach. They improve, but rate to do a 180. He did not endear himself with his personality and has not coached since.

Lets focus on Larrys deal. It was massive. He gets 10 mil for that season but was owed 41mm. Stern settles and they agree to 18.5. Larry got more than half his contract after one year. $Twenty Eight ane half million United States Dollars!!!!! In the year 2006! That was 17 years ago!!!!!!!!!! That was not a bag, that was a satchel! A big number. If Im Dolan and gotta pick between Issiah or Larry and that contract, Buh Bye Issiah!

And we are evaluating brown on what he did during his tenure here. He went a Finals with prime Allen Iverson in a soft eastern conference years earlier. Yay. He was trash here and he also sucked in charlotte right after

And accusing Rambos of being a drunk is actually being nice. He is possibly the worst head coach the Knicks ever had(says a lot) and he was liking porno tweets on Twitter at 3am the day before a game

Charlotte he won 33 games, then 44, then could not reach his young untalented team his last with them.
He is 7th all time winning in the league without his NBA totals.
