He is terrible. Stay far away.

Player development is all this team needs.

Just need to get RJ, Grimes, McBride, IQ in the gym shooting and working off of screens. We need tough minded defenders that can shoot. DLO is low IQ, erratic. If you can't shine with AD/Lebron that's a wrap.

I would like to find a way to get Reeves. He has some real onions on him and isn't scared of the moment.

here's one we agree on. Russell is so wildly overrated. With Brunson/McBride/IQ/Grimes gobbling up the 1/2 minutes who do you really want to see Russell replace?

Overrated. Bad locker room guy. Plays no defense. Needs the ball in his hands because he’s really a pg. Will want a $95+ million contract. Will probably b-tch when Grimes gets way more minutes than him while Brunson starts. What’s there not to love?

Yep - that is debatable whether he would have to settle for the $12M MLE but lots of guys lose value.
My post was if his price does drop that far - he’s talented and he is pretty good player.

Malik Beasley is another guy and we were rumored to have a deal close for him/Vanderbilt at the deadline.

He’s up/down but our Minny front office guy has history with him and if his market falls significantly he could be a buy low chance for us using the lower exception or a trade.

Beasley quick catch/shoot release isn’t something we have on this team — if his price drops to the lower exception level could be a thought.

I think you are being incredibly - and debatably - generous with "debatable"

Yes - you are right for whatever reason I was thinking Russell was making maybe $20M —- did not realize he was north of $30M so my non-tax payer $$$ would seem unreasonable.

I don't think he's 'terrrible' just mentally weak. Based on matchups, he needed to come off the bench in the WCF. The rumor I head is that Lakers tought he'd be useless if he came of the bench, because of his free agency coming up

D’Russell likely a one or two year contract guy as he really can’t be trusted. He has spurts of brilliance and then loses it.
Price? He in Fournier territory but shorter deal. Maybe with team options.

Lets be real, losing in the conf finals is not being a loser. He was part of the team getting there. That matters.
On knicks, as currently constructed I’d say if IQ and EF are moved and there is a void you do him off the bench with a one year 18mm per with a team option for the next year. He backs up Grimes and stays after practice to work with Bryant if he is worker type. If not he won’t get a sniff here.

he in that Gary Trent JR, and oubre type. They can shoot, but the rest of the game not disciplined.

Russell can shoot the 3. But there are cheaper options we can actually sign with MLE to one year deals like Burks and Watanabe who can help us get better from Beyond the arc
