I want a top 2 reserve who can shoot 40% from 3 as a spot starter and top ten in the league in fg% defense. Sadly, players like that are probably out of reach.

Extend IQ he is a player who will get better. He needed this experience. I like the idea of Watanabe and Burks. Randall let's see if anyone offers something valuable. All NBA 2 out 3 years and has major reliability as a plus. But he is cray cray as a negative and ball dominant. If another team had Randall they would demand a Gobert type package. Can we get a haul like that ?

I was joking, but yeah- anyone can win a championship if they are on a team with multiple first ballot Hall of famers. To win a championship you have to get to the playoffs and Knicks don't make the playoffs without Randle this season. As Thibs said, Randle is just entering his prime, with the subtext being "and he's the oldest guy in the rotation."

What to do with Randle/Barrett? I'll go with trading Randle if we have the right deal on the table, assuming that we might not get players with the same ceiling, but maybe trusting Obi and Grimes development and keep stocking draft picks is the way to go. I'm skeptical of KAT, specially for its willingness to play Center. We cannot put him in the same situation that he was in Minnesota with Robinson instead of Gobert.

All good points. Will flip the switch and add that we need a formidable number two that will ball out like JB did in the playoffs.

Biggest agreement is a SF that can shoot and defend. As is with Iso ball. Which only works if you have really good shooters you can rotate bal to when teams double.

I mean, I'm still looking to trade your daddy Randle if there's a move that makes sense. 😉

I think you have to give up Randle for KAT and some. You might have to give some picks along with Randle. I would do that you are getting a legitimate center a floor spreader at the center position. Which allows a lot of room for Brunson in the low blocks.

KAT is a good player. He may be due $50 million. For that kind of .oney one wil ask why has he not put a team on his back to the playoffs yet? That kind of money should get you someone who can every year. JB is a good example of someone who can for A LOT less.

I get the idea of upgrading the C position for spacing but if the Knicks wing players could hit just the average rate of 3pointers, they are literally good.
