To suggest 30 billionaires all agree to scripts that doesn't favor them, and then keeps this secret bargain a secret even while in two recent cases they league forced them to sell agains their wishes (not to mention ALL the ex-executives that would have to be aware) is absolutely ludicrous.

The nba has revenue sharing. The draft lottery being rigged like the bulls getting Derrick Rose benefit all 30 teams or at least it was the shared perception by all of the owners that would happen. Owners that might have objected in the past like Dolan have been outcast and mocked by the media. Tom Benson getting gifted Anthony Davis for essentially bailing out a lost franchise needing an owner like the then New Orleans Hornets that was losing money explains itself then the same franchise gets Zion a few years later in exchange for trading AD to the lakers which was supposed to be a cash cow for all the teams as they share revenue.

This is all anecdotal conjecture. And doesn't hold up under even light scrutiny.

Yes, the NBA has revenue sharing (and most of the revenue comes from TV revenue which would blow up if the NBA was really like the WWE (but I guess with magnets in the balls so Randle's prayer in Miami went according to script).

But the REAL value for NBA owners is valuation of their teams, which IS significantly effected by competitive factors.

Why would 29 other owners look at what happened to the Warriors (now the team's most valuable franchise) and not want a piece of that? Why would the Clippers and Celtics go along with the Warriors not being valued more than twice as much as they are... in excess of $4 BILLION dollars?

Assuming the second round isn't rigged, why hasn't the NBA made the Warriors trade Draymond Green as a do good to some other team the way the Pelicans got Zion Williamson (who has hardly played and whose team is under .500?)

Imagine the value of the Knicks today if they won just 1 of the 4 chips the warriors have won.

Then explain why Robert Sarver is keeping the NBA's biggest secret today? Check has cleared.

I always enjoy citing how overtly rigged the nba draft is because it makes people wildly angry despite the fact that 1) the draft always goes in some way to benefit the lakers when they suck and/or the nba financially as a whole and 2) it really is not an outrageous conspiracy theory at all.

Btw it’s already leaked out the draft is rigged like AD wearing New Orleans hornets gear a month before the draft or Mutombo congratulating the sixers on winning the lottery 12 hours before it was supposedly done

Here's what I find interesting.

The conspiracy theory advocates don't engage in discourse. Just drop an anecdote, dismiss random chance, suggest their conspiratorial theory sans evidence is self-explanatory, and walk away, often smugly.
